According to a bio listed by the National Thoroughbred Association, owner Carl Moore, who was born in Fort Worth, grew up in a family that was in the horseracing business.
?Moore’s parents had racehorses while he was growing up, and he spent the summer between his junior and senior years in high school working at Ruidoso Downs, doing everything from grooming and hotwalking to breaking and ponying horses … His father had a Quarter Horse, Big Profit, who set a track and world record at 550 yards that summer ? a record that stood more than 20 years. ?I had a blast that summer,? he said. … Dabbled in ownership for a few years, but got away from racing while raising a family. ?Once the boys [he and his wife, Valinda, have two sons] got out of college, I had more disposable income and got back into it. I?ve been fortunate to have 10 stakes horses with about 15 in training at any one time. I normally buy between three and six yearlings, or sometimes two-year-olds in training.?
Carl Moore Management is a business management company, incorporated in 2010, and located in Kennedale.
