Kennedale Junior High won the district UIL Academic meet last month, besting 2nd place Godley by 73 points. {{more}}Kennedale Junior High School students worked hard during their Enrichment time with their UIL coaches to prepare for the UIL Academic competition that was held at Cleburne?s Smith Middle School on Thursday, December 11th and Friday, December 12th.KJHS had 73 students participating in the meet?s 15 events which were coached by a variety of KJHS teachers including: Ms. Hamilton, Ms. Gabler, Ms. Martin, Ms. Cullum, Mr. Lackey, Ms. Motheral, Mr. Boubel, Ms. Jensen, Ms. Dupire, Mr. Gross, Ms. Montiel, Ms. Zeller, Ms. Gross, Ms. Bergere and Ms. McQueen.Overall, Kennedale won the meet with a total of 590 points beating the 2nd place team, Godley, by 73 points.KJHS had 56 students receive one or more medals/ribbons. Twenty-nine were 7th Graders and twenty-seven were 8th Graders.Twenty-eight students received two or more medals/ribbons and twelve students received three or more medals/ribbons.Eighth grader, Jay Acosta won 5 medals/ribbons. Seventh graders, Allen Constantino, Brandon Isensee and Aaron Ly along with eighth graders Kean Chastain-Howley and Leland Murphy each won 4 medals/ribbons.Read more at KennedaleISD Newsletters
