Basketball ? Playoffs start tonight for LadyKats, Wildcats one game away

This a bi-district match. Winner of this game should play Abilene Wylie (27-5) in an area game later in the week. In the latest TABC poll Kennedale is #9 and Abilene Wylie is #2.
 
Kennedale lost a tie-breaker to Godley on Friday giving the Kats the second seed from District 7-4A where they had finished the season as co-champions.
Wildcats

The Kennedale Wildcats (25-6, 7-0) play their last district game tonight against Venus at home with the varsity game beginning at 8:00 p.m. (Last week the Kennedale News reported that the game was on Friday night but that was open night on the schedule for the Wildcats).

 
Tuesday a week ago, the Wildcats defeated Alvarado 62-38.
 
Alvarado outplayed Kennedale in the first quarter 14-10. But the Cats warmed up and outscored the Indians 16-8 in Q2 and finishing the half ahead 26-22. With a 18-5 third quarter, the Wildcats coasted in for the 24 point win and an undefeated mark in district play.
 
Scoring for the Cats was Brandon Conwright (20), V.J. Hughes (11), T.J. Davis (10), Colton Otts (6), Quardraiz Wadley (5), Aaron Chavez (4), Darius Hammond (4) and Blake Ingram (2).
 
Playoffs for the Wildcats will begin next week with a probable game against Lake Worth either Monday or Tuesday evening. Currently the Wildcats are ranked #13 in the last TABC poll.
