Four KHS 2014 graduates and former Wildcat Cheer Team members will compete in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Cheer Nationals in April. They will be representing four different college teams.{{more}}
They are Jasmine Owens from OSU, Amber Bishop from Tarleton State, Jamil Pearson from Tyler JC and Kristin Miller from UNT.
?This is the top cheer competition in the nation, said KHS Cheer Coach Barbara Johnson. She added ?…this is so cool that four Kennedale kids will be there at the same time.?

Johnson explained that the three girls are ?flyers and mid-flyers? [which means they are] the tiny/strong girls that are in the 2nd layer of a three-person high pyramid. Jamil is always featured with his jumps and tumbling and some basing.Jazzy and Amber started cheering for Coach Johnson in the 7thgrade at Kennedale Junior High. Kristin and Jamil started in their
sophomore year at Kennedale High School.
“I can?t believe I don?t get to be there to watch them!” said Johnson.
The NCA Cheer Nationals will be held in Daytona April 8th ? 12th. The competition will be telecast at a later date by CBS Sports Network.
