The Kennedale High School Computer Science Team this year consisted of four seniors, Tyler Ward, Danny To, Blake Bunnell and Cody Kovar. (from left to right). {{more}}
These same four students have competed together since their freshman year. Last year in 2014, they finished their competitive programming season with a 4th place finish at the UIL State Competition.
This year they were on a war path to improve. They went to several invitational competitions during the year in preparation for the UIL Academic season and it paid off.
The seniors took 1st Place at the District Competition sweeping 1st ? 4th individually. They repeated their sweep at Regionals, again taking 1st Place overall as a team and 1st ? 4th individually.
On the final stage in Austin at the University of Texas in May, the team ended their season with Silver – 2nd Place in Texas for Class 4A in public schools including charter campuses.
Blake Bunnell finished 1st individually and became the UIL Computer Science State Champion for Conference 4A. Tyler, Cody, and Danny all finished in the top 15 individually.
