Norris, a senior at the University of Texas
at Dallas
, played for the Brazos Valley Bombers this summer. The Bombers have captured their third straight TCL title.Brazos Valley, playing out of Bryan, Texas, swept both the first and second-half titles with a 42-9 regular season record for an .821 winning percentage, a new TCL record. Norris batted .301 and led the league with 34 steals.
Early this year Norris was named to the 2nd team All-American Southwest Conference Team in his second season with the UTD Comets.Norris, a shortstop from Kennedale?s state title team of 2011, shattered both the UTD and ASC single-season stolen base records with 36 swipes over his junior season. Norris finished the year hitting .333 with 10 doubles, three triples and one home run. He led the Comets with 48 runs scored and added 28 RBI. In just two seasons with the program, Norris already holds the Comets’ career steals record with 60. He was a second team All-ASC pick as a transfer sophomore last spring.
