The Kennedale Wildcats moved to 6-0 and 1-0 in district Friday night in Springtown, pounding out a 51-7 win over the Springtown Porcupines. The Pojos (Springtown) dropped to 2-4 and 0-1. {{more}}Dailyn Wells (Sr) for Kennedale had a big night as did the Kennedale defense. Wells ran for 13 carries for 237 yards (18.2 per), 3 TDs and the Wildcat defense held Springtown to 131 yards (24 rushing) and 5 first downs.
Springtown put up a good showing in the first quarter in slowing the Cats potent offense, which ended the night with 532 total yards and 20 first downs. After an opening, time consuming, 70 yard, 13 play drive Kennedale came away with 3 points (Jace Zeller for 42 yards). But the D-Cats stepped in and in a typical offensive series for Springtown, the Pojos gained 6 yards, lost 18 and fumbled the ball to the Cats on the Springtown 23. On the very next play, Wells rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown. Wells had touchdown runs of 23, 62 and 63 yards for the evening.

In the first half, Kennedale kept Springtown bottled up in their half the field. Springtown did have a successful drive late in the 2nd quarter that included an Austin Bauman 62 yard pass completion to Brandon Santos and then a three yard pass to Wriley Russell for the touchdown and a 24-7 halftime score.Kennedale did score two more touchdowns in the first half on runs of 2 yards and 31 yards by Quardraiz Wadley (Sr).
The Wildcas went on to score 27 unanswered points in the second half.For the game besides Wells? 237 yards and 3 TDs, Wadley had 20 carries, 208 yards at 10.4 per and 3 TDs (longest 82 yards). QB Kaiser McGlothen (Sr) had 9 carries for 79 yards at 8.8 per and 1 TD. The Kennedale defense forced Springtown to turn the ball over on three fumbles, one interception and 6 punts. Take away Pojos? Bauman’s two pass completions of 62 and 42 yards and Springtown really had nothing to show for the game.
