KHS Archery team wins tournament in very first try

The Kennedale High School ACE Archery Team made Kennedale history by not only competing in their first ever archery tournament, but winning it as well! Kennedale outscored last year?s #10 state finisher Martin High School 2,768 to 2,735.
 
Team scores are taken from the top 4 boys, top 4 girls, and then the next top 4 scores of either sex for the team total. Up to 24 kids can participate on one team.
 
Top finisher for the boys for Kennedale were
  • Jeremy Peppel-1st with 256 points,
  • Carlos Torre 3rd with a 248,
  • J.T. Dixon-4th with a 243.

Top finishers for the girls were

  • Gabby Spencer led the Lady Kats finishing 2nd with a 250,
  • Rachel Bradley 6th with a 224,
  • Hannah Stephens-8th with a 215.

Other participants were Matthew Webb, Christian Stites, Aiden Ornsby, Spencer Murchison, Hunter Steinhilber, Rodrick Scott, Dominique Johnson, Kirstie Ballinger, Samantha Mayer, and Sarah Montz.

 
It should also be noted that Kennedale, along with all 6 of the Arlington ISD high schools are the founding members of the first archery league in the state of Texas.
 
Future tourneys will be held in the AISD Archery Complex under construction now behind Braum?s on Little Road.
