Number of thefts reported during two week period by KPD

The Kennedale

Police Department reported a number of incidents for the two week period from November 22 to December 5, 2015. Most incidents involved theft or burglary but two involved death reports and several alcohol violations. {{more}}

 
  • 11/22

    Assault by Contact – At 8:53 p.m. officers were

    dispatched to a domestic disturbance. Officer met with an 18 year old female

    victim who reported that she was assaulted by her mother. The daughter stated

    that her mother was being loud and was asked to be quiet so that the daughter

    could sleep. The mother attacked the victim by pulling her hair before the

    father stepped in to stop the altercation. The mother was arrested for assault

    and transported to jail for booking.

  • 11/25 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – W. 5th Street: At 9:09 a.m. officers responded to a criminal mischief complaint. A victim reported that person(s) unknown broke the rear windshield of his vehicle by throwing a cinder block through it. The damage was estimated at $250.00.
  • 11/25 – Possession of Alcohol by a Minor – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:50 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. On contacting the 19 year old driver and 18 year old passenger, the officer observed an unopened bottle of whiskey in the back seat. The alcohol was seized as evidence and the driver was cited for the possession.
  • 11/27 – Vehicle Burglary – Short Street: At 7:45 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown removed the tailgate from a Toyota pickup. The tailgate was removed during the overnight hours and was valued at $555.45.
  • 11/27 – Death Investigation – River Rock Drive: At 9:29 a.m. officers responded to a deceased person call. A 93 year old male was found deceased by his daughter. The death appeared to be natural.
  • 11/28 – Burglary – Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 6:20 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered his apartment by breaking a window. A 40″ television valued at $150.00 was removed.
  • 11/30 – Burglary – Chateau Avenue: At 3:53 p.m. a victim reported that a home under construction was burglarized over the weekend. Person(s) unknown caused $400.00 in damage and removed $350.00 in fixtures.
  • 11/30 – Death Investigation – 1200 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:07 p.m. officers responded to a report of a deceased female. The female appeared to have been deceased for some time. No evidence of foul play was detectable at the scene. The medical examiner confirmed no foul play evident in the death.
  • 12/01 – Theft $750 to $2,500 – Gilman Road: At 7:30 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown removed his paint sprayer without his permission. The item was valued at $1,400.00.
  • 12/02 – Public Intoxication – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:20 a.m. an officer located a male asleep at a vacant building. The male was intoxicated and was arrested. He was transported to jail for booking.
  • 12/02 – Vehicle Burglary – Wren Court: At 8:15 a.m. a victim reported that his unlocked vehicle had been entered during the overnight hours and property was removed. The vehicle was parked in his driveway.
  • 12/03 – Theft of Metals – 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At 9:19 a.m. a city employee reported that person(s) unknown removed $400.00 in wiring from a power feed to a fountain. The theft occurred overnight.
  • 12/03 – Reckless Damage or Destruction – 300 block of N. Little School Road: At 1:45 p.m. an officer responded to a report of damage to city property. A semi truck driver had damaged the curbing of a traffic roundabout while trying to drive through it.
  • 12/03 – Burglary – 600 block of Wildcat Way: At 5:14 p.m. a burglary of a church was reported. Person(s) unknown entered a church building and removed electronics valued at $1,450.00. Entry was made by breaking out a window, causing $1,500.00 in damage.
  • 12/04 – Identity Theft – 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:40 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown person used her identity to open a cell phone account.
  • 12/04 – Emotionally Disturbed Person – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:43 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed person. The male was terrified that people with guns were after him. It was determined that the male was suffering from a temporary mental illness brought on by heroin use. He was transported to JPS Hospital for treatment and observation.
