Darby Smith, Kendall Vondra and Maggie Pyles, seniors at Kennedale High School, were named by the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) as Academic All-State players for 2015 announced Head Coach Jennifer Patterson on Tuesday. To earn this designation, a player must have a 94 or better grade average.

This is a very special honor but not surprising coming from this team. Coach Patterson also announced that every Lady Kat varsity member made the Academic All District Team this year. This honor is earned by having a 90 or better grade average and the lowest average for this team was a 92.

every player was an “A” student …

This is unsual. In other words, every varsity player this volleyball season was an ?A? student, a double honor for the team.

Combined this with a #7 regular season state ranking in Class 4A; a season record of 30-14, 10-0; and, ten players selected to the 7-4A All-District athletic team and this becomes a very special team. It represents a feat not accomplished by any other KHS Volleyball team in recent history or maybe for all time.

These are true scholar athletes of which parents and Kennedale High School can be proud.
