Police Department reported the following incidents for the second week of December. These reports were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded. {{more}}

  • 12/07 – Hit and Run Accident – Arthur Drive: At 8:22 a.m. a victim reported that his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was dented while legally parked at the curb. The left passenger door was dented, possibly by someone backing out of a driveway across the street. The suspect(s) did not notify the owner or leave a note of any kind. The damage was done during the overnight hours.
  • 12/07 – Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – Falcon Nest Drive: At 11:19 a.m. a victim reported that he had a binder containing a large amount of cash taken from his vehicle. The cash was payment for a construction project.
  • 12/07 – Hit and Run Accident – 5600 block of I-20: At 12:25 p.m. a victim reported that her 2004 Hyundai was damaged while legally parked in a business parking lot. The vehicle’s front end was struck by the driver of an unknown vehicle, who then left the scene.
  • 12/07 – Assault by Contact – Pine Meadows Drive: At 6:52 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female and male had been arguing before officers arrived but had stopped. The female was uncooperative but the male, who was bloody and had done extensive damage to the house, was still extremely emotional. He was arrested for assault by contact and transported to jail.
  • 12/08 – Theft $100 to $750 – 7200 block of I-20: At 9:01 a.m. a victim reported that an exterior video camera, valued at $500.00, was taken from his building. The theft and suspect were captured on video and a copy was turned over to police.
  • 12/09 – Accident – 1000 block of Oak Hill Park: At 8:06 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown damaged her brick mailbox by turning it over. The damage was done during the overnight hours. The damage was estimated at $700.00.
  • 12/10 – Assault by Contact – Peachtree Court: At 8:49 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. On arrival it was determined that the female resident had been in an argument with her former boyfriend when she struck him in the head. He was not injured in the assault. The female was cited for the assault and released at the scene.
  • 12/12 – Criminal Mischief – $100 to $750 – Arthur Drive: AT 10:22 a.m. a victim reported that her neighbor had damaged her fence by burning it overnight. The damage was the result of an on-going neighbor dispute.
  • 12/12 – Assault by Contact – North Road: At 8:30 p.m. a victim reported that his girlfriend had struck him with her car while dropping him off at his sister’s home. The suspect may have been intoxicated on an unknown substance. The suspect was gone before officers arrived. The victim was not injured by the contact.
