HAMMOND ? The Southeastern Louisiana softball team placed three players on the preseason All-Southland Conference Teams, which were released by the league office on Tuesday.
Representing the Lady Lions were senior Katie Lacour, senior Amber Sather and sophomore Kinsey Nichols. {{more}}Lacour was a first team choice, while Sather and Nichols earned spots on the second team.
Sather joins Lacour on the team after a record-breaking 2015 of her own. For the second straight season, the three-time All-Southland performer from Kennedale, Texas set a single-season school record with a league-high 43 walks. She also contributed seven home runs and 31 RBI as junior and is currently the school’s career leader with 109 walks.
Lacour, Sather and Nichols will be three of the team’s leaders heading into the 2016 season, which opens Feb. 12. Southeastern will host Buffalo at 3:30 p.m. on the opening day of the Lion Classic at North Oak Park.
