The Arlington Fire Department responded to fire at America?s Best Auto Parts, a salvage yard in the 7900 block of Mansfield Highway just south of the Kennedale city limits. {{more}}Fire officials believe that it was caused by a piece of cutting equipment that ignited flammable liquid. It quickly engulfed the building in flames and smoke which could be seen for miles.
The fire was reported around the noon and multiple fire vehicles responded to the 2 alarm fire. No casualties were reported. The highway had to be shut down with traffic turned back.

Because the fire moved so fast in the building and with the flammable liquids involved, the firemen were forced to fight a containment or defensive fire attack and let the fire die out.
By 4:30 p.m. the fire was smoldering and contained with a reduced fire present but the traffic was still being detoured around the site.
