This year the Kennedale City Council will have 2 seats up for elections, Place 2, currently held by {{t2:Liz Carrington: }} and Place 4, held by {{t2:Kelly Turner: }} (Mayor Pro Tem) plus the office of Mayor, currently held by {{t2:Brian Johnson: }}.

On the Kennedale School Board, Place 4, held by Janet Adams and Place 5, held by {{t2:Stewart Richardson: }} are in up for election. Adams told the Board earlier this year that she and her husband were moving out of the district which would leave that position with no incumbent.

 
The general qualifications are to be a registered voter in the district or city of the elected office, be a resident of at least one year (may vary), be at least 21 years old, not an unpardoned convicted felony or hold another elected office.

Candidate packets for Kennedale City Council can be picked up at the City Secretary Office at 405 Municipal Way in Kennedale or downloaded at City Elections. For the City of Kennedale all mandatory filings (completed forms) must be no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016. There is no filing fee.

 
Filing application forms for the Kennedale School Board may be picked at the Superintendent?s Office at 120 West Kennedale Parkway in Kennedale. For Kennedale ISD, the deadline to file is 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2016. There is no filing fee. Read Notice of Deadline to File.
