Lady Kats vs Mineral Wells Friday in Area Softball Playoff

The Kennedale Lady Kats (15-16-1, 5-3) will play the Mineral Wells Lady Rams (15-11, 3-5) in an area playoff “best of three” series this weekend. {{more:[read more]}}
 
Game 1 will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday night. Game 2 will be played at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with Game 3 if needed immediately following Game 2. All games will be played at V.R. Eaton HS (Haslet, TX) in the Northwest ISD. This is the same location used last week for the bi-district games. Directions (going I-35 to 287major back-ups with road construction). Alternate

The Kennedale Lady Kats swept into the area round of the UIL State 4A Softball Playoffs by defeating Springtown in two games last week to win the bi-district title (11-0 & 18-7). 2016

Mineral Wells is a 4th seed out of District 6-4A finishing behind Stephenville (23-9, 6-2), Brownwood (17-7-1, 5-3), Abilene Wylie (13-8-1, 5-3) and followed by Graham (9-17-1, 2-6). The Lady Rams are coming off of a one game bi-district playoff upset win (5-3) over Burkburnett (21-10, 8-1), a top seed out of District 5-4A.
 
The Lady Rams and the Lady Kats did not play each other this year and shared only one common opponent, Godley. Mineral Wells lost 11-3 in one game and Kennedale lost in two games 6-0 and 3-2.
 
Both teams had successful seasons last year with Mineral Well going 4 deep before losing out to Snyder 2-0 in the region semi-finals. Kennedale made it to the region finals before losing to Snyder 2-1.

  • Godley (1) defeated Castleberry (4) in 2 games 6-0, 15-0
  • Midlothian Heritage (4) lost to Decatur (1) in one game 15-0
  • Alvarado (2) defeated Bridgeport (3) in 2 games 2-1, 6-5
  • Kennedale (3) defeated Springtown (2) in 2 games 11-0, 17-8
