Police Blotter for June 26 – July 16

The Kennedale Police apprehended several fugitives and dealt with cases of public intoxication over the last three weeks. These were part of the incidents reports filed for the three week period June 26 – July 16. {{more:[Read more]}}
 

These reports were in addtition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded. Link: Kennedale Police

Incident Reports Week of June 26 …
 
06/26 ? Theft $750 to $2,500 ? 300 block of Arthur Drive: At 3:18 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown had entered her residence and removed jewelry valued at several hundred dollars. The burglary occurred while the victim was out of town between 06/17/2016 and 06/26/2016. No forced entry was observed.

06/27 ? Found Property ? 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At 9:00 a.m. a city employee reported finding two sets of keys on a bench at Sonora Park. The keys were placed in property until an owner can be located.

06/27 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: Officers responded to a report of an assault. A male victim reported that he was assaulted by two players of an opposing soccer team during a game. The victim received treatment at the scene and was later transported by private car to a hospital. The suspects, who were not on scene, were known to the victim and photo IDs were provided by the owner of the soccer facility.

06/28 ? Burglary ? 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:41 a.m. a victim reported that his business was burglarized overnight. Person(s) unknown entered the building through a window, and removed coins and keys to a 2005 Cadillac parked outside. The vehicle, which had no plates, was taken. The theft was caught on video.

06/29 ? Fail to Identify (Fugitive) ? 700 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:19 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle contained two male occupants. The driver, who had a weapon in his waistband, verbally identified himself but no driver?s license could be found. During the interview it was determined that the driver had lied about his name and date of birth because he had a parole revocation warrant for his arrest out of TDCJ. He also had two outstanding warrants from North Richland Hills. Further investigation of the vehicle revealed it was stolen out of Fort Worth. The original plates were inside the vehicle but not on it. Methamphetamine paraphernalia was also located during an inventory of the vehicle. The driver admitted to using narcotics earlier in the day. The driver was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The passenger was released at the scene.

07/02 ? Vehicle Burglary ? 1200 block of N. Little School Road: At 12:51 p.m. a victim reported that a suspect had entered his vehicle while he was parked at a food establishment. The suspect was observed by the victim while inside of the vehicle. The suspect removed cash that was intended for the victim?s business. Entry was attained by breaking the driver?s side window of the 2016 Smart car. The suspect left the scene in a black Toyota.

 
Incident Reports Week of July 3 …
 
07/03 ? Traffic Stop ? 1300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:50 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for no headlights. The driver, an adult female, had no driver?s license and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was cited and released at the scene. The passenger, an adult male, had several outstanding warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody. He was transported to jail without incident.

07/05 ? Animal Bite ? 1100 block of Parkview Trail: At 6:58 a.m. officers responded to a dog bite report. A German shepherd had bitten an adult female multiple times. The female was treated at the scene by paramedics and referred to the hospital for follow-up treatment. The dog, which appeared agitated and uncooperative, was taken to the Fort Worth animal shelter for quarantine.

07/06 ? Fail to Identify (Fugitive) ? 1000 block of Ohio Court: At 8:18 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for no license plate sticker. The vehicle driver attempted to elude the officer and turned down a cul-de-sac, where he was stopped. The driver, an adult male, stated that he had no driver?s license but did have an offender card in his wallet. The wallet was not on his person. He verbally identified himself to the officer but no returns came back, including a criminal history. A parole revocation warrant was listed for a male with a similar name and dispatch sent the photo to the patrol unit?s mobile computer. The photo and tattoos matched to the suspect and he admitted to giving a false name to avoid being arrested. His wallet was found on the ground under the vehicle. He also had outstanding warrants from other cities. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail.

07/07 ? Public Intoxication ? 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:51 a.m. officers responded to a report of an unconscious naked male. The male was found next to the business dumpster, completely unclothed with his soiled clothes on the ground beside him. The male was awakened and stated that he had been drinking and passed out. There were several empty alcoholic beverage cans next to him. He was taken to the location and dropped off the day before by Arlington police officers. The male stated he was homeless and was checked by paramedics for injury. Because of his extreme intoxication, the male was arrested and transported to jail after being cleared by the medics.

07/07 ? Possession of Controlled Substance ? 6700 block of Lindale Road: At 4:20 p.m. an officer observed an intoxicated adult male sitting close to the roadway and yelling profanities. An adult female and a second adult male were with the intoxicated male. A silver Ford Explorer was sitting next to the three and parked partially in the roadway. The second adult male verbally identified himself but no returns could be obtained on his identity. After further interview the male admitted to giving false information. His real name returned with a Parole Violation (Armed and Dangerous) warrant out of TDCJ. The warrant also stated he was possibly in possession of a firearm. He was immediately taken into custody. The female stated that the vehicle was hers and consented to the search of the vehicle as the male had been inside and she didn?t want a firearm to be inside the vehicle. In the immediate reach of the driver?s seat was a case with methamphetamine and related paraphernalia inside. The female denied knowledge of the case. No firearm was located but property belonging to another female was in the car. When contacted by officers, the female stated that her vehicle had been stolen in Forest Hill the day before and the property had been inside. The property was seized as evidence and the vehicle impounded with a hold for Forest Hill police to process for further evidence using a search warrant. The female was arrested for the controlled substance and the identifying information in her possession. Both suspects were transported to jail for booking.

07/07 ? Abandoned/Found Property ? 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 3:00 p.m. a citizen found an abandoned wallet and turned it in to the police department. The owner was contacted and the wallet placed in property until claimed.

07/08 ? Credit/Debit Card Abuse ? 11000 block of U.S. Highway 281 N.: At 3:01 p.m. a victim reported that his debit card information had been used to withdraw money from an ATM in San Antonio. The victim had the card in his possession and had already filed a forgery affidavit with his bank.

07/09 ? Public Intoxication ? 300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:31 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a male next to a closed business, sitting in a chair. The male, who was intoxicated, was in possession of more alcoholic beverage. He stated to the officer that he was in Mansfield and waiting for a ride. The male was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Mansfield for booking into the jail.

 
Incident Reports Week of July 10 …
 

07/12 ? Hit and Run Accident ? 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:20 p.m. a victim reported that her vehicle was struck by an unknown male driving a black Toyota. The male stopped to look at the damage and told the victim to pull into a nearby parking area. As the victim was doing this the suspect fled the scene.

07/12 ? Fail to Identify ? 100 block of Pine Meadow Drive: At 5:32 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle being driven by an adult female. The female driver gave her name and date of birth verbally as she did not have a license with her. No record could be located and she again gave the same name but with a different spelling. After several minutes she admitted to lying because her license was suspended and gave her correct information. This was confirmed and the female was arrested for failure to identify on a lawful traffic stop. She was transported to jail for booking.

07/12 ? Accident ? 1100 block of N. Little School Road: At 9:39 p.m. officers responded to a hit and run accident. A white pick-up truck had struck two vehicles at an intersection after running the red light.

07/13 ? Public Intoxication ? 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:19 a.m. an officer responded to a report of an intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located at a local business and the driver was outside of the car. The driver exhibited signs of intoxication and was unable to successfully complete a sobriety assessment. He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to jail for booking.

07/14 ? Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 ? 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:37 a.m. officers responded to a report of a vehicle being damaged. A victim reported that an older male had followed him around the store while he was shopping. The victim then paid for his items and exited to his vehicle. The vehicle would not start and the victim discovered that a starter cable had been cut. The suspect male approached the victim and demanded that he allow him to assist. The victim refused and went back into the store. Security footage revealed that the suspect and an accomplice had been driving in and out of the location for several hours. A store employee stated that the same suspect was in the store earlier in the week when another vehicle was damaged and he tried to assist that motorist as well. It is unknown at this time why the damage was caused. A license plate for the suspect vehicle was obtained from the video footage.

07/15 ? Possession of Controlled Substance ? 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue: At 1:42 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. On approaching the vehicle the officer smelled marijuana inside of the passenger compartment. During an interview the male driver was found to be in possession of three pills identified as Alprazolam but had no prescription for them. He was also in possession of a small bag of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

07/15 ? Criminal Trespass ? 200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:29 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance at a bank. The known suspect had been using profanity and disrupting business until told to leave by a female bank employee. When he refused two male customers also ordered the suspect to leave, which he did. Upon being contacted by officers the suspect admitted to losing his temper and acting improperly. He was issued a criminal trespass warning at the request of bank personnel.

07/15 ? Burglary ? 300 block of Bolen Road: At 3:00 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown had entered his rented storage space by breaking through the wall from the space next door. Suspect(s) took several hundred dollars in personal property.

07/16 ? Vehicle Burglary ? 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:05 p.m. a victim reported that his vehicle, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, was burglarized. The vehicle was parked at a business when person(s) unknown broke out a window to remove a purse left in the vehicle.

07/16 ? Injured Person ? 6700 block of Hudson Village Creek Road: At 8:04 p.m. officers responded to a report of an ill person at a race track. The victim, a 15 year old female, had been drinking and became ill and began to vomit. The victim stated that she had obtained the alcohol from several track attendees when they weren?t looking. They were unaware that the victim had taken any alcohol or was drinking. The victim was transported to Mansfield Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.
