Incident Reports Week of August 7-13
08/08 – Public Intoxication – Whitley Court: At 3:32 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance. A male and female had been in an altercation over the male?s behavior toward a third party female at the residence. The male was intoxicated and did not live at the residence. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
08/08 – Traffic Arrest – 4900 Block of E. California Parkway (Forest Hill): At 5:34 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle with an expired license plate. The vehicle, driven by a female, was stopped at the red light on Kennedale Parkway at I-20. The vehicle went under the freeway and turned west onto I-20 as the officer attempted to get her to yield and stop. The vehicle exited at Anglin Drive and pulled onto California Parkway. The driver spoke very little English and at first failed to properly identify herself, giving a false name. After finally identifying herself properly, officers discovered an Immigration and Customs warrant for her arrest. Due to the warrant confirmation taking time, the female was placed in custody for no operator?s license, expired license plate, and failure to maintain financial responsibility. She was transported to jail for booking.
08/09 – Aggravated Robbery with Firearm – 6300 Block of Tealpond Drive: At 6:09 p.m. a female reported to police that she had been the victim of a robbery. The victim stated that she was in the parking area of an apartment complex when three males approached with a handgun. The suspects opened the passenger door of the victim?s car and took her purse. The suspects left in a separate car with the victim following. The victim followed the suspects long enough to get a license plate number. While being followed, the suspects fired several shots at the victim, hitting her car several times. The victim was not injured.
08/10 – Assault Family Member/Impede Breathing – S. Eden Road: At 1:28 p.m. a victim reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend in June of this year. The assault occurred during an argument over money. The victim did not report the assault at the time but she has now left the boyfriend and is trying to protect herself and her children. She was seeking a protection order, which the officer provided paperwork for.
08/10 – Possession Marijuana – 100 Block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:23 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The officer identified the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. During the interview it was determined that the driver was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
08/11 – Possession of Controlled Substance – 1300 Block of Meadowview Drive: At 1:48 a.m. an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in a neighborhood. The vehicle attempted to leave and was stopped by the officer. The driver had several outstanding warrants and stated that he was a heroin user. While waiting for the warrants to be confirmed the suspect made several statements in regards to wanting to harm himself. The warrant check was cancelled and the decision was made to transport the suspect to JPS for an emergency mental evaluation. During an inventory of his vehicle, officers discovered heroin and related paraphernalia. He will be charged with the narcotics at a later date. The suspect was transported to JPS for mental evaluation.
08/12 – Abandoned/Found Property – 6800 Block of Hudson Village Creek Road: At 1:40 p.m. an officer observed a male on a bicycle. When the officer turned around to stop the male, he abandoned his bicycle as well as a backpack and ran on foot. The suspect managed to escape before other officers could arrive, but the bike and backpack were seized. The backpack contained several cell phones, methamphetamine, and related paraphernalia.
08/12 – Burglary of Motor Vehicle – 200 Block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:00 a.m. a victim reported that his vehicle was burglarized while parked at his place of employment. Unknown person(s) removed a Go Pro camera and prescription medicines from the vehicle.
08/13 – Burglary of Habitation – 6900 Block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 3:01 a.m. a victim called to report that unknown person(s) had entered her home while she and her female roommate slept. The victim stated that both of them heard footsteps in the house. No one was observed and nothing was missing.
08/13 – Possession Marijuana – 100 Block S. New Hope Road: At 5:40 a.m. an officer ran a computer check of a vehicle license plate. The plate showed an active warrant for a male. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer identified the driver as the male with the active warrant. While the warrant was being confirmed, the officer conducted an interview. It was discovered that the driver was also in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
