Lucila Duran Ramirez, a long-time resident of Everman, Texas joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the age of 82. {{more:Read more …}}
 
Lucy was born January 21, 1934 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Sabino and Catarina Duran.
 
She married Alfredo Galindo Ramirez on October 11, 1954. They had 5 daughters and 2 sons. Lucy and Alfredo moved to Fort Worth in 1969. They then settled in Everman, Texas in 1970.
 
Lucy?s most rewarding career was raising seven children. Yet, she still managed to find time to sell homemade pies/cakes, iron neighbor?s clothes or watch neighborhood children. She eventually would take her cooking skills to the local elementary school cafeterias. She started creating her restaurant dreams by making breakfast taquitos in a travel trailer at local city events. With the help of her children, those beginnings turned into Burrito Inn off Everman Parkway. From there, she would open Lucy?s restaurant in Kennedale, Texas.
 
During her final years, she had the privilege of living waterfront in South Carolina with her children. During all of her years, Lucy was a follower of Jesus Christ and an amazing prayer warrior leaving behind a legacy of believers. She loved her family, classic movies, coffee, and good conversation that included occasionally ?resting her eyes.? She was incredibly proud of all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo (2009).
 
She leaves behind seven children and their spouses: Patricia Yelverton; Rose Woods, Alfredo Ramirez, Jr., Martha McCarroll, Mario Ramirez, Natalie Hooper and Terresa Baldwin. She also leaves behind; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many family members in Fort Worth and Fort Stockton.
 
Memorial: Cana Baptist Church, 2309 E Renfro St, Burleson, TX 76028, Saturday October 15th at 2 pm. Internment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens Mansfield, Texas.
