Comprehensive Plan
The City of Kennedale is a city of approximately 7,300 people and 6.6 square miles
But, the rapid growth in Kennedale came with controversy. Some felt like Kennedale was losing its identity, citing the city?s master plan that targeted the race tracks and the salvage yards that have been identified with Kennedale for decades. There were some who questioned the amount of money spent to rid the city of the sex-oriented businesses. Others questioned the need for the ?roundabouts? and landscaped roadways. It came to a head this past year when a double digit increase in water/sewer rates was approved by the Kennedale City Council. A small but vocal group targeted Hart as the culprit for the large increase. Last month, the group through a spokesperson spoke to the Council concerning their concerns about what they feel is uncontrolled spending.
At this month?s Kennedale City Council meeting on January 16, it is expected that some type of reply will be made and the plans for filling the city manager?s position.
