City moves ahead on several projects

Last month action the Council moved ahead on the redevelopment of the Oak Crest area (near QuikTrip) into a business/office area that could include a hotel.{{more: Read more …}}
 
Items approved last month by Kennedale City Council:
  • Approved a rezoning change to allow for the redevelopment of an area in the Oakcrest area behind and adjacent to QuikTrip and Burger King. The change would be to ?EC-2? Employment District as an area for office/business development.
  • Approval of a bid for sanitary sewer improvements in the 200-300 block of Dick Price Road as part of the annual community block development grant (CDBG). The bid was for $145,303 and was within in the maximum allocation and no supplemental funding will be required from the City. Circle C Construction had the winning bid.
  • Approval of a contract with North Texas Control Authority for the animal control services for Kennedale. This will address the on-call, and daily patrol service that has been provided by Animal Control Officer Dianna Garcia who has been out with a long term injury.
  • Authorized the purchase of a lot and home located at 532 Trent Street and to pay relocation expenses.
  • Authorized the Mayor to sign a 380 Agreement for a Hospitality Project with Karmali Holdings, LLC. Which would allow for the possible construction of a hotel at I-20 and Kennedale Parkway.
  • Appointed George Campbell as Interim City Manager and authorize the Mayor to negotiate a contract for personnel services.

City Council will meet in regular session tonight at Kennedale City Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m.
