Tonight KKB host a Spring Planting event

Today, Tuesday, March 21 beginning at 6:00 pm in the Kennedale Community Center, the Keep Kennedale Beautiful Commission will have special event that includes gardening tips to attract butterflies. {{more: CONTINUE …}}
 
Come learn more how to attract Monarch Butterflies in your yard, and the importance of planting nectar producing plants for them. Mrs. Kara Lynn Greenfield, R.F. Patterson Elementary School teacher and Kennedale’s own Monarch expert, will give a very informative presentation.
 
 
There will be door prizes and plant vouchers redeemable for $25 worth of plants from Stegall?s Nursery. (There is a limited number of the vouchers).
 

Refreshments for this event are generously provided by the Kennedale Historical Society.

 
Background ?
 
Through the National Wildlife Federation?s (NWF) Mayors’ Monarch Pledge, cities are committing to create habitats and educate citizens about how they can help preserve these butterflies. Keep Kennedale Beautiful (KKB) and Mayor Brian Johnson are proud participants in the NWF Mayor’s Monarch Pledge, which included issuing vouchers to residents last year in 2016 to purchase milkweed and other nectar-producing plants.
