The recorded sound of the Kennedale High School Wind ensemble was entered earlier this past spring semester in the Outstanding Performance Series sponsored by the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB). The recording was in competition with other similar sized bands from across the state of Texas.
Kennedale was first at region and then again at area competition, allowing the recording to advance to state. Last week Erol Oktay, Director of Bands, announced that the KHS Ensemble?s recording of ?Hands Across the Sea? placed in the top ten at #7.
The top 10 sounds in the ?March? category in order were Melissa, Port Isabel, Stephenville, North Lamar, Bushland, La Feria, Kennedale, Henderson, Burnet and Big Springs.
