The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the week period of July 31 through August 5, 2017 including assault, DWI, burglary and stolen motorcycle. {{more: Read more …}}
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
Incident Reports …
7/31 – Incident – Heritage Parkway: At 11:26 p.m. an officer was called to pick up a contraband substance from the jail in Mansfield. The substance was found on the person of an arrestee from Kennedale on the previous shift. The substance was in a bag and was residual material rather than a usable amount. The bag was placed in evidence for processing later.
8/01 – Assault Family Violence (Impede Breath) – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:40 a.m. officers responded to an investigation. An adult male and female who are in a dating relationship had been arguing. The male stated that they had drunk too much and during the argument, the female grabbed the male by the throat and prevented him from breathing. The female did remove her hand and the male began breathing again. The female was arrested for the assault and transported to jail for booking.
8/01 – Driving While Intoxicated – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:40 a.m. an officer observed a red Jeep leaving a residence on Kennedale Parkway. The officer was transporting a victim from a previous assault call to the residence that the Jeep was leaving. The officer signaled the Jeep to return and contacted the driver, an adult male who was intoxicated. The male was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. While at the jail for booking, a blood draw warrant was obtained for the suspect. He refused to allow the blood to be drawn and began to violently fight the jail personnel and the officer. He was eventually strapped into a restraint chair and a sample of blood was obtained. He was booked in afterward.
8/01 – Burglary – Sublett Road: At 1:30 p.m. an officer responded to a burglary report. A storage shed was broken into and several power tools were taken. The offense occurred during the overnight hours.
8/02 – Accident/ Striking Unattended Vehicle – 5600 block of E. IH 20: At 11:40 a.m. a victim reported that his 2007 Ford 4 door had been struck in the parking lot of his employer. The vehicle was damaged on the driver side headlight and bumper.
8/05 – Driving While Intoxicated – Fawn Meadow Trail: At 2:35 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving and a traffic violation. The driver, an adult female, had been drinking and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
8/05 ? Unauthorized Use of A Motor Vehicle, Possession of Dangerous Drug – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:42 p.m. an officer checked a motorcycle temporary license plate that was registered to a Honda Civic car. Upon contacting the driver, an adult male, the officer attempted to check the vehicle identification number (VIN). It was too obscured to read so the officer conferred by phone with an investigator with the auto theft task force. After locating another VIN plate the motorcycle was confirmed as stolen out of Dallas. The driver was also found to be in possession of several Codeine pills without a prescription. The driver was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The motorcycle was impounded by the auto theft task force and the pills were entered into evidence.Kennedale PoliceDepartment
