This Saturday, September 16, the City of Kennedale is holding a free community cleanup event targeting hazardous waste and other items that do not belong in the landfill and opportunites to get rid of bulk waste, tires and donate ?gently? used clothing and shoes. {{more: continue …}}
 
Three ways to clean up your garage, closets and yards …
 
FIRST: Household/yard chemicals, paint, paper records, old electronics and more
  • Where/When: 9:00 ? 11:00am Kennedale City Hall (405 Municipal Drive)
  • Requirements: Proof of residency with water bill or drivers license ? no commercial waste or trailers allowed ? event ends when containers are filled.
  • will accept paint, painting supplies, cooking oil, batteries, light bulbs, antifreeze, used automotive oil, cleaning fluids, insecticides, lawn and pool chemicals.
  • will shred personal or home office documents, magazines and mail (no newspaper)

DFW Reclaimers

  • will except electronics including computers, printers, keyboards, wall chargers, kitchen electronics, televisions, game consoles, speakers and other entertainment equipment. (There is a disposal fee for tube televisions and crt monitors. Make sure you destroy data on hard drives before you bring it)
Items not accepted ? ammunition, explosives, smoke detectors, butane/propane cylinders, commercial and medical chemicals/waste, freon appliances (refrigerators, freezers, window units), asbestos, PCP transformers, lead-based paint, mercury thermostats/switches and radioactive sources.
 
 
SECOND: Donate used clothing items
  • When/Where: 9 am to 11 am 1st United Methodist Church (229 W 4th in Kennedale)
  • Requirements: Anyone may donate
  • Bring: Gently used clothing and shoes (kids and adult sizes accepted)
  • No not bring: torn or soiled clothing or worn out shoes
THIRD: Bulk trash, tires, mattresses, furniture
  • When/Where: 8:00 am to Noon C&D Landfill (4144 Dick Price Road)
  • Requirements: Proof of residency with water bill and drivers license – Only household residential items accepted ? no commercial items or trailers accepted – Proof of residency with water bill and drivers license
  • Bring: Bulk trash and old tires (not commercial, farm equipment tires or tire rims), construction debris, furniture and mattresses.
  • Do not Bring: household waste, commercial,semi or farm equipment tires nor any kind of rims
