KPD Incident Reports for November 19 – 25, 2017

The Kennedale Police Department reported the following eight incidents for the one week period of November 19 through November 25, 2017 including DWI, domestic disputes and forgery. {{more: continue …}}
 
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
 
Incident Reports
 
11/20 – Aggravated Assault (Serious Bodily Injury) – : At 4:20 a.m. officers responded to a fight in progress. A female was present at the residence and has assaulted several persons. The suspect, who is the home owner?s ex-wife, was intoxicated. One of the females involved was transported to the hospital due to injuries received. No one present at the scene cooperated with officers and all refused to press charges. The case is still open and under investigation.

11/20 – Forgery Financial Instrument – 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 4:59 p.m. officers responded to a complaint of a counterfeit $20 bill passed at City Hall. A female had paid her water bill in cash and one of the bills was not legitimate. All other bills were valid and the female replaced the bill with a good one. The female stated that she had sold some items and received the cash from the man who handled her sale. The bill was taken as evidence and the female released with no charges since there was no intent.

11/22 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 7:53 p.m. officers responded to a welfare concern. A female had posted to social media that she wanted to end her life. A friend contacted police to check on the female?s welfare. The female was in fact dealing with some personal issues that caused a great deal of depression. She was determined to be a threat to herself and was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention and evaluation.

11/22 – Criminal Mischief (Impair/ Interrupt Public Service) – 300 block of E. 5th Street: At 11:06 p.m. officers responded to a report of an open fire hydrant. Over the next few hours unknown person(s) opened a total of four hydrants and left them running. All were discovered and shut off before damage could be done.

11/24 – Driving While Intoxicated – 200 block of Sublett Road: At 1:46 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, an adult male, smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage. He was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The male was placed under arrest and transported to jail for a blood draw and booking.

11/24 – Driving While Intoxicated – 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:27 a.m. an officer responded to a report of an intoxicated driver. The driver was being followed and had first been observed on Seminary Drive in Fort Worth. The officer located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, an adult male. The driver, who smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage, was non-cooperative and refused to exit the vehicle. The officer used a wrist lock to remove the driver form the vehicle. The driver continued to resist and struck his head as he was being removed from the vehicle. A piercing on his left eyebrow caused a cut in his forehead that began to bleed. After being treated by paramedics, the driver refused any other further treatment or transport. He was arrested and transported to jail for a mandatory blood draw and booking.

11/24 – Assault (Bodily Injury) (Family Violence) – At 9:25 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. A 27 year old female and a 29 year old male had been arguing when the female began to assault the male. He had numerous injuries consistent with his account of the event. The female was arrested for the assault and transported to jail for booking.

11/24 – Assault (Bodily Injury) (Family Violence) – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:18 p.m. officers responded to an assault. A female had been assaulted by her boyfriend during an argument. The boyfriend fled the scene before officers arrived. A warrant will be issued.
