Since joining the City of Kennedale in May 2010, Kelly Cooper has been a valued member of the Leadership Team of the City of Kennedale and was instrumental in developing a strong organizational culture. {{more: continue …}}Her leadership was exemplified by the redesign of the employee on boarding process, the implementation of performance reviews, and by prioritizing training and continued education for a dynamic work force.

?Kelly has clearly demonstrated excellent leadership and made significant contributions to the City organization over the past seven years” said City Manager George Campbell. ?She has been an incredible asset to the organization during internal transitions this past year and I am personally grateful for her advice and for her dedication.?

In 2011, Kelly established ? and currently serves as staff liaison for ? Keep Kennedale Beautiful (KKB), a Keep Texas Beautiful Affiliate. She also oversees the Tree Board, serves on the Kennedale Arts & Culture Foundation, and was named Employee of the Year at the 2013 Chamber Awards Luncheon.?
?
Along with volunteer residents, she has conceived and implemented numerous programs, including curbside recycling, the ?Bring It? event for safe disposal of hazardous household materials, an Arbor Day celebration, community clean-ups, a Butterfly Demonstration in the Mayor’s Monarch Butterfly Program, the Adopt-A-Spot program, the addition of Kennedale as a “Tree city USA? (2011-16), and the addition of Simple Recycling to the city’s offerings ? a program that kept an estimated 17,000 pounds of unwanted items out landfills in 2016.?

During her 20-career. Kelly has become a Certified Public Manager (CPM) through the UTA School Of Urban and Public Affairs, a Senior Certified Professional through the International Public Management Association, and a graduate of the Disney Institute for People Management.

Kelly’s resignation is effective February 22, 2018.
