It was a good day for the cast and crew of ?These Shining Lives?, a one-act play presented by Kennedale High School at the District 7-4A UIL One Act contest this past week. Not only did they take first but the entire cast was selected to the All-Star Cast. {{more: continue …}}?

Kennedale HS, along with two other schools from District 7-4A, will advance to compete in the bi-district round.?
One cast member, Noah Wyckoff was named best Actor of District 7-4A while Maddie Fail was named to the All-Star Cast. Four were named to All-Star Honorable Mention Cast. They were John Corder, Alia Boubel, Ashlyn Greefield and Olivia Ham.?
This year, KHS performed, ?These Shining Lives? by Melanie Marnich. The play setting is 1920?s and 1930?s Ottawa and Chicago, Illinois.?
The play written by Melanie Marnich was based on a true story of four women who worked in a watch factory in Ottawa, Illinois and the danger women faced in the workforce in the 1920s along with the lack of concern by companies for protecting the health of its employees. It is presented in selected scenes by KHS players.?

Crew members were Bailey Torcoletti, Kristen Wirkler, Marissa Rozas, Leland Murphy and Zanah Eggen. Alternatives were Lucianne Williams and Alyssa Marcantel.?The play was directed by KHS Theatre Director Genieve S Croft.
