Five Lady Kats placed in the top four of their respective events with one lifting for a first place while shattering records.?

KHS senior Erlyna Morgan earned gold for her 1st place finish at the region meet. Morgan set multiple records for Region 6 Division 2 for her weight class in the squat (525 lbs), deadlift (420 lbs), and total weight lifted (1150 lbs).?

Other Lady Kats to place in their weight classes at the Region 6 Powerlifting Meet were Julie Rico (4th Place), Ruth Mitchell (3rd Place), Rita Spirrison (3rd Place), and Karen Pena (4th Place). Placing but out of the medal count were Lady Kats Paxtynn Booher (11th), Kehsslyn Henderson (8th) and Lexie Benge (17th).

Morgan will represent Kennedale at the state powerlifting meet March 15-16 in Waco. She is currently ranked the 4th strongest in Class 4A in Texas. This is her second year to go to state.? Last year Morgan finished in 4th place.

Kennedale, 8 members strong and with 17 points finished behind Springtown (44 pts), Anna (40 pts) and Gainesville (20 pts). Finishing out the top ten teams were Castleberry (15pts), Bonham (14 pts), Mineral Wells (10 pts), Decatur (10 pts), FW Diamond Hill-Jarvis (9 pts) and Princeton (7pts).
