The regular season for soccer has ended with both the LadyKats and the Wildcats in the 4A state playoffs once again. Playoff games begin next week on Thursday with times and places to be determined. {{more: continue …}}?
LadyKat Soccer …??
- The Kennedale LadyKats won their last game of the season on Tuesday night with a 1-0 victory over Diamond Hill in a battle for first place. It was the Kats’ 16th shutout of the season.?
- The Kats scored in the first half and were able to keep the Lady Eagles out of the net to take the win.?
- It was a unbelievable score as Faith Kinser driving with the ball kicked it through the legs of one defender and then at the last moment kicked it from the left side of the goal over the outstretched hands of the the keeper, hitting the top bar and bouncing it in for the score.?
- At 9-1 in district play, 14-6-3 overall, Kennedale claimed their 5th straight district title. Diamond Hill (13-6-2, 8-2-0) came in second followed by Castleberry (16-5-1, 7-3) and Lake Worth took fourth.? Benbrook? and Springtown finished out the playoff competition.
- The LadyKats starts the playoffs next week against Venus, a 4th seed out of District 8-4A with details to be announced.? Kennedale will play a pre-playoff game today against Wichita Falls at home beginning at 5 p.m.
Wildcat Soccer …
- In the playoffs once again, the Wildcats finished in third place after a 1-0 defeat by Diamond Hill-Jarvis. Kennedale and Diamond Hill had been tied for second up to last week.
- ?For Kennedale this will be their 4 straight playoffs.
- Last week the Wildcats beat Benbrook 3-0 but drop a game to district leader Castleberry 2-1 followed by the loss to Diamond Hill on Tuesday.?
- Castleberry took first place in district play followed by Diamond Hill, Kennedale and Benbrook in fourth place.? Lake Worth and Springtown finished out of the playoff picture.
- Kennedale will play 2nd seed Alvarado out of District 8-4A in the first round action next week on Thursday, March 29th. The place and time TBA. Today Kennedale will play a pre-playoff game against Burleson HS at 7 p.m.
