Kennedale, trying to return to the region playoffs once again, was denied by a late winter blast and a talented Midlothian Heritage team.?{{more: continue …}}?Kennedale and Heritage both scored once in the first half. But as the field possession changed at halftime so did the gust of cold wind coming in from the northwest.. Kennedale had to fight the wind and the Lady Cougars. They lost on both counts as Heritage scored 2 more goals in the 2nd half to win and to end Kennedale season at 16-8-3.

In other district playoff action, Mineral Wells was knocked out the playoffs with a 2-0 loss to Stephenville. Stephenville, 23-3 and the defending state 4A champs will play Heritage, 25-3-1, this Friday at the Birdville Athletics Complex.

Castleberry, also representing District 7-4A, won their regional quarterfinal match with Melissa on penalty kicks and will meet Abilene Wylie at 1 p.m. in a region semifinal game on Friday at Birdville Athletics Complex.? ?still a good run for the seniors …?

Still it was a good year for the Lady Kats and the graduating seniors. In four years they have only experienced a single district loss. They have never lost a district, bi-district or an area championship. And, in four years of play, they have gone 89-13-6 which includes 2 state titles.
