The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 9 incidents for the one week period July 7 through July 14, 2018. The reports included burglary, hit and run accidents, assault by threat and misappropriation of funds. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

7/08 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation -? At 5:57 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed person. An adult female was located and determined to be the person in question. An adult male arrived on scene and stated that the female had texted him that she was tired and wanted to kill herself. The female exhibited fresh marks where she had attempted to cut herself. She was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency evaluation.

7/09 ? Hit and Run Accident – 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 2:57 p.m. an officer received a report of a hit and run accident. A vehicle owner stated that he parked his vehicle in a space at City Hall and went inside. On coming back out to the vehicle the owner noticed a dent in the left front quarter of the vehicle. The owner stated that no other vehicles were observed in the area.

7/09 – Vehicle Burglary – Peachtree Court: At 6:34 p.m. a victim reported that his work truck had been burglarized. Unknown person(s) had broken a wing window and entered the vehicle to rifle through the property inside. Nothing appeared to be missing at the time of the report.

7/10 – Hit and Run Accident – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:44 a.m. an officer observed a wrecked vehicle parked behind the gym of Delaney Elementary School. The vehicle had front end damage and was still warm to the touch, indicating it had not been there long. An accident site was identified in the 500 block of Sublett Road where two roadway signs had been struck. Parts of the vehicle were still on scene. Officers were unable to contact the registered owner. The vehicle was impounded pending further investigation.

7/11 – Theft $2,500K to $30,000 – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:25 p.m. a victim reported that his vehicle, a 2008 Cadillac Escalade, had been stolen by a known female suspect. The victim stated that the vehicle had been sold and ?chopped up.? The case has been referred to the auto theft task force for follow-up.

7/12 – Assault by Threat – S. New Hope Road: At 1:30 p.m. officers responded to an assault by threat. The offense occurred on 06/29/2018 but had required further investigation. The suspect in the offense was issued a citation.

7/13 – Incident – At 7:42 a.m. an officer was approached by a 64 year old male who advised that he thought his wife might be looking for him. The male stated that he left his home during the night and had been wandering the area. It was apparent that the male was suffering from a mental disorder dealing with his memory. The male was able to give his address and the officers took him home. Contact was made with the male?s wife and daughter. He was left in their care.

7/13 – Misappropriation of Fiduciary or Financial Property – Fox Wood Drive: At 3:00 p.m. an officer received a report of a possible criminal offense involving a home builder. A victim reported that his builder had stolen money during the course of building a home that was never completed. The contract had been terminated by mutual consent but the theft was discovered later. The case is under further investigation.

7/14 – Manufacture/ Delivery of Control Substance – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:11 a.m. officers received information from Mansfield police that a Ford truck was travelling into Kennedale and was transporting narcotics. The vehicle was observed travelling at faster than the posted speed limit and was stopped for speeding. The driver did not have a valid driver?s license and had not had a license since 2008. He was arrested for the suspended license. During an inventory of the vehicle, the officer discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine. The narcotics were seized as evidence and transported to the police department. The driver was transported to jail for booking.
