The Kennedale Lady Kat Volleyball varsity team graduated a single senior last year but have replaced last year?s group with 4 seniors, 1 junior, 5 sophomores and 3 freshmen. Last year, the Kats finished as district co-champs with a 17-24, 11-1 record.?{{more: continue …}}

This year’s team will be pushed by a very strong group of underclassmen.? They have already logged plenty of playing time and looked to be big contributors this year and the next 3 to 4 years.Kennedale
does return 6 all-district players including, Most Valuable Defensive Player – Grace
Guadagnolo (Sr), Newcomer of the Year – Bryley Steinhilber (So), 1st Team – Lily Rychlik, 1st Team – Katie Spell (So), 2nd Team – Mi Nguyen (Sr) and 2nd Team – Kyndall Daniels (Sr).
Katie Groff (Sr) rounds out the list of 5 upperclassmen on this team. In all the team has listed 13 players on the varsity list. Others on the varsity team not already mentioned are Tatum Pavey (So), Angel Mahjou (So), Taylor Poore (Fr), Bridget Barton (Fr),?Maddie Pyles (Fr) and Gracyn Reed (Fr).?2nd in first tournament …?This past weekend the Kats competed in the Nike ASC LISD Tournament, earning silver with a 2nd place finish in their division. This was their highest finish in recent memory for the Kats in this tournament.

Kennedale defeated Irving 25-12, 25-3; Weatherford JV 25-17, 25-11; Holiday 25-22, 25-14; Celina 25-22, 25-19; and, Ponder 25-21, 25-14. The Kats lost to Calisburg 25-10, 25-21.

This weekend the Lady Kats are playing in the Northwest TNT. Kennedale will begin district play on September 7 against Dunbar.

The Lady Kats coaches are (new) Head Coach Kelly Carl, JV Coach Cassie Thibeau and Freshmen Coach Rachel Dixon.
