Dorothy Louise Jones was born on May 8, 1924 to Willie Lee and Roberta Fisher in Millsap, Texas. She was the sixth of ten children. She married Gilbert Nathaniel Jones on Nov. 2, 1941. {{more: continue …}}?They had two children and lived in Mineral Wells, Texas before moving to Ft. Worth, Texas where they raised their family. They attended the Kennedale Church of Christ and later, the Brentwood (now Bridgewood) Church of Christ. Dorothy passed away on Aug. 28, 2018 at the age of 94. Her husband, Gilbert, preceded her in death in 1981.?
While living in Ft. Worth, Dorothy worked at Samsill Brother?s Plastic Company in the Graphic Arts Department for 23 years, from 1966 to 1989. After retiring from Samsill Brother?s she stayed active by working in part time jobs in the Ft. Worth area and by remaining active in her congregation. In September 2007, she moved to New Braunfels, Texas where she lived with her daughter for six years before becoming a resident of Kirkwood Manor in 2013.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sharron Jones, of New Braunfels, and her son, Stephen Jones, of Allen, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Johnson, of Perrin, Texas, as well as her grandchildren, Robert Jones and Paige Davidson, her great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Lee Earl Fisher, Sam Fisher, Vernon Fisher, and Willie Fisher, and four sisters, Sue Crowell, Hazel Calvert, Lois Anderson, and Nancy Fisher.

Dorothy was a caring and hard working wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
