The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 23 incidents for the two week period October 14 through October 27, 2018. The reports included hit and run, domestic violence, dog bite, possession and burglary. {{more: continue …}}

10/14 – Possession Control Substance – Arthur Drive: At 1:49 a.m. an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in a neighborhood. After parking at a residence for a short period of time, the vehicle left and drove toward Interstate 20 on Kennedale Parkway. The officer followed the vehicle and observed several traffic violations. Upon stopping the vehicle the adult male driver was asked to step from the vehicle in order to submit to a field sobriety assessment. The officer observed a small bag of what appeared to be methamphetamine in the driver seat of the vehicle. The adult female passenger was asked to exit the vehicle as well. The officer discovered more methamphetamine as well as paraphernalia in the vehicle. Both persons were arrested for the contraband and were transported to jail for booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.?
10/14 – Animal Bite – Corry A. Edwards ? At 9:48 a.m. officers responded to a complaint of a dog bite. An adult male victim reported that a white dog had approached him from behind and bit him on the leg. This caused the victim to stumble and fall, scraping his knees. The animal ran back to a nearby residence. The owner was contacted and provided proof of current rabies vaccination. The animal was ordered to be quarantined and the case will be referred to the Animal Control Officer for follow-up.

10/14 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – Kennedale Parkway: At 2:25 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and female were arguing over child custody when the male grabbed the child and began to walk away. The female attempted to stop him when he pushed her back forcibly and continued walking toward Forest Hill. The male and child were located at a Valero gas station on Mansfield highway. The male denied being physical but the female did have marks consistent with the assault report. There was no court agreement in place and the custody arrangement was found to be verbal only. The male was arrested for the assault and the child was returned to the mother.

10/15 – Incident – Hudson Village Creek Road: At 9:26 a.m. officers responded to a report of identity theft. A female victim reported that an unknown person had opened a charge account at Home Depot using her information.

10/16 – Assault (Family Violence) – At 5:09 p.m. an officer responded to a report of assault (family violence). A known adult male suspect came to his parents? home and assaulted his father by striking him in the head. The suspect damaged the home in an attempt to remove property. The suspect then left before police were called. There is an active protective order for the suspect not to be at the residence. Investigators will follow-up.

10/17 – Public Intoxication – At 1:19 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. The officers were met by a 20 year old female who exited the residence, which belonged to her grandparents. The female was intoxicated on alcohol and was speaking almost incoherently. The grandparents refused to take custody of the female as she is violent when intoxicated. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking.?
10/17 – Silent Abuse Call/ Electronic Communication to 911 Service – 900 block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 10:05 a.m. a school resource officer was notified of a 911 call coming from the school phone system. A juvenile female student had made numerous calls to 911 without communicating with the call taker and then hanging up. The student was released to her mother. The case will be referred to the Tarrant County Juvenile Justice Center.

10/17 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 2:58 p.m. officers responded to an assault report. An adult male suspect had assaulted both of his grandparents during an altercation. The assault caused the grandparents to be transported to the hospital for treatment. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

10/18 ? Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:23 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. The adult male driver appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. An adult female was also in the vehicle and was asleep until officers woke her up. The female at first gave a false name until her driver?s license was located with the correct information on it along with her photo. Both subjects were found to be in possession of methamphetamine and hashish as well as equipment used to distribute narcotics. Both were placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.

10/19 ? Vehicle Burglary – Forest Green Drive: At 5:17 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) removed a tailgate and back-up camera from a Ford F-150 truck. The items were valued at $2,000.?
10/19 ? Theft $750 to $2,500 – S. Dick Price Road: At 2:24 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) came onto his property and removed his work trailer. The trailer was secured to a pole at the time of the theft.

10/19 ? Hit and Run Accident – Woodland Court: At 7:36 a.m. a victim reported that an unknown vehicle had driven into his driveway from the street. The unknown vehicle struck his 2006 Nissan, causing $3,000 in damage. The vehicle drove away from the scene.

10/21 – Incident – North Road: At 3:27 p.m. officers responded to a threat report. A male stated that earlier in the day an unknown female had driven up to his residence and asked to speak to the reporting person?s girlfriend. When the girlfriend came outside the female exited the vehicle and made several threats toward the resident female. The threats were reportedly the result of a dispute over money from earlier in the month. No violence occurred and the female left.?
10/21 – Driving While Intoxicated – S. Dick Price Road: At 7:58 p.m. officers responded to a report of an accident involving an intoxicated driver. The driver had left the scene and was driving south on Dick Price Road. An officer observed the vehicle, a gray GMC Yukon, and was able to get it stopped. The adult male driver smelled of alcoholic beverage and appeared to be intoxicated. He was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to a local hospital for a blood draw. After the blood draw he was transported to jail for booking.

10/22 – Incident – W. Fourth Street: At 5:22 p.m. a female reported to police that she had located prescription medications in her juvenile son?s possessions. The medications did not belong to the juvenile and he admitted to stealing the items from a neighborhood vehicle. The medication was returned to the rightful owner. The case is being reviewed by investigators.

10/23 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 3:32 p.m. officers responded to a general disturbance at Kennedale High School. A juvenile student with behavioral disabilities had become upset and assaulted school staff. The student was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention.

10/23 – Assault (Family Violence) (Impede Breath/ Circulation) – At 8:23 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim reported that her boyfriend (suspect) and she were arguing earlier in the day when the suspect began choking her. The suspect then left and took their 1 year old daughter with him. The victim stated she wanted her child returned and requested an emergency protective order. Investigators are following up on the case.

10/24 – Criminal Trespass – Falcon View Drive: At 10:53 p.m. officers responded to a suspicious persons report. Two males, aged 16 and 25, were located in a home under construction. The males had met via a phone app and text messages. The older male is a registered sex offender and the juvenile lived in the area. Both subjects were charged with criminal trespass. The adult male was transported to jail for booking.?
10/25 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – Elmbrook Drive: At 12:00 a.m. officers responded to an investigation report. A male victim reported that his vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet truck, was damaged by the estranged husband of a female friend. The victim reported that he was visiting the female friend when her estranged husband arrived at the residence unannounced. When they refused to allow him entry he left. The victim believes that the husband threw a rock into his windshield and caused the damage before leaving.

10/26 – Burglary – Stags Leap Trail: At 8:29 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) forced entry into a home under construction. Suspect(s) removed $3,500 in appliances from the site as well as caused $1,000 in damage.

10/26 ? Hit and Run Accident – Pennsylvania Avenue: On this date a victim reported to officers that his vehicle was struck from behind by an unknown driver in a green SUV. The driver failed to stop and provide insurance information.

10/26 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:52 p.m. officers responded to a suspicious person call. A male was located outside of a business. The male seemed confused and gave conflicting answers to officers? questions. He stated that he was supposed to be on medication but could not tell officers what the medication was. He was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention.

10/27 – Deadly Conduct (Discharge Firearm) – Woodland Court: At 7:01 a.m. officers responded to a report of shots fired. Officers responded at that time but were unable to locate the damage due to low light conditions and no one present to point out which residence the shots came from. At 9:24 a.m. officers responded to a witness?s report of vehicle damage. The witness reported that unknown suspect(s) had shot multiple rounds into a vehicle parked in a driveway as well as fired several shots at the residence. The vehicle was not present but the witness reported that it did have numerous holes from the rounds fired. The witness provided officers with photos of the vehicle, a white Chrysler. The witness reported that the resident had left with friends at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the damaged vehicle. It was discovered that none of the shots penetrated the residence wall due to the brick construction. The shell casings were collected for evidence and photos of the residence were taken. This offense may be the result of an earlier offense in Arlington. Investigators are following up.?Link: Kennedale Police Department ?
