The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 21 incidents for the two week period November 11 – November 24, 2018. The reports included theft, animal cruelty, DWI, possession, and assault. {{more: continue …}}
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

Incident Reports – November 11 – 17

11/11 – Driving While Intoxicated – Kennedale New Hope Road: At 1:50 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult male driver appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The driver was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The driver refused to give a voluntary blood sample. A warrant was secured to obtain the sample.?
11/11 – Possession Control Substance – Woodland Court: At 7:29 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The adult male driver and adult female passenger identified themselves and were asked to exit the vehicle. During the initial contact the officer observed a glass pipe used to smoke narcotics in plain view the vehicle. It was determined during the interview and subsequent search that the female was in possession of methamphetamine as well as Vicodin, Hydrocodone, and Xanax tablets. The female was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The narcotics were placed in evidence.

11/12 – Vehicle Burglary – Pennsylvania Avenue: At 11:50 a.m. a victim reported to police that his work vehicle was burglarized several days earlier while on a job. Security video showed a suspect vehicle pull alongside the parked and unoccupied vehicle. One suspect entered the victim?s vehicle and removed tools. The value was placed at $300.00.

11/12 ? Theft Under $100 – Shady Oaks Drive: At 6:15 p.m. a victim reported that her trailer plates were stolen during the day. It was unknown when the plates were missing except between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

11/12 ? Assault (Bodily Injury) – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:17 p.m. a victim reported that he was assaulted by two males driving a vehicle. At 12:30 p.m. the suspects were attempting to leave a business without paying for services. When the victim tried to stop them from leaving by blocking their exit, the suspects struck the victim with their vehicle, causing bruising to his legs. The suspect had his injuries evaluated at a local hospital before coming to police.?
11/14 – Assault (Family Violence) – Oak Crest Drive W.: At 6:41 p.m. a victim reported that she had been assaulted by a known male suspect while dropping her mother off at church. The suspect approached the victim as she pulled up and punched her with a closed fist through a partially open window. The victim attempted to flee but was chased by the suspect in his vehicle. The suspect left before police arrived. He currently has an open family violence assault in Fort Worth that involves his attacking the same female victim.

11/15 – Unlawful Carrying Weapon – New Hope Road: At 11:28 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interview of the adult male driver and passenger, it was discovered that they were in possession of marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, and a .40 caliber handgun. The passenger also had active arrest warrants issued for him. Both were placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.

11/17 – Recover Stolen Vehicle – E. IH 20: At 7:38 a.m. an officer observed an abandoned vehicle on the service road. The plate attached to the vehicle was stolen out of Arlington. The VIN showed the vehicle to be an Arlington stolen as well. The vehicle was impounded to be held for Arlington police.

11/17 – Driving While Intoxicated – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:10 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for excessive speed. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The driver was transported to jail for a voluntary blood draw and booking.

11/19 – Possession of Control Substance – N. Dick Price Road: At 11:58 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The driver had multiple arrest warrants out of Fort Worth and was placed under arrest. Inside the driver side door track was a bag of methamphetamine. The driver was charged with the narcotics as well as the outstanding arrest warrants. He was transported to jail for booking.?
11/20 – Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon – Mansfield Highway: At 3:12 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an expired registration. Upon contacting the adult male driver and adult female passenger, the officer observed the passenger to have an open container of alcoholic beverage in her lap. Upon interviewing the occupants it was determined that there was a bag of marijuana and a narcotics pipe in plain view. There was also a stolen 9mm handgun in the back seat area of the vehicle. The male, who had 8 felony convictions, was arrested for the marijuana and the illegal possession of the handgun. The female was arrested for the paraphernalia (pipe). Both were transported to jail for booking.

11/20 – Incident (other) – S. New Hope Road: At 9:11 a.m. a complainant reported that she had received a video from a Facebook friend of two males, possibly juveniles, being beaten severely. The complainant did not have a phone number or address for the friend who sent the video because she only knows him through Facebook. She only knew that the friend lives out of state.

11/19 – Theft – Joy Lane: At 9:43 p.m. an officer received a report of two stolen handguns. The handguns were stolen from a residence. The home owner was able to identify a possible suspect.?
11/21 – Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon ? Link Street: At 2:25 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a DWI investigation. The vehicle was occupied by two adult males and one adult female. The female was found to have an out-of-state arrest warrant for drug charges. The male driver was found to be in possession of a shotgun found in the back seat of the vehicle. The male had multiple felony convictions and was not allowed to possess a firearm. Both subjects were arrested and transported to jail for booking.

11/21 ? Animal Cruelty – Oak Crest Drive E.: At 8:43 a.m. a utility worker contacted Kennedale Animal Services to report a sick dog. The dog was tied to a pole on the porch of the residence and appeared to be in need of food and water. A second dog was located in a car port on the property. The Humane Society responded to take possession of the animals and get them treated by a veterinarian. The homeowner was present and gave verbal release of the animals to the Humane Society investigator.

11/21 ? Theft $750 to $2,500 – Grapevine Trail: At 10:48 a.m. a victim reported to police that a black two-axle utility trailer had been stolen from his business. The trailer was valued at $1,500.00. Video of the theft was provided to police.

11/21 – Possession of Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:15 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for no tail lights. During the interview it was determined that a female occupant of the vehicle was in possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested for the narcotics and transported to jail for booking.

11/23 – Abandoned/ Found Property – E. IH 20: At 10:36 a.m. an officer responded to a complaint of an abandoned boat. The boat had been tagged by another officer earlier in the month. The boat was impounded.

11/25 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – Kate Circle: At 4:42 p.m. a victim reported that his trailer and lawn equipment had been stolen from a friend?s property. The items were stolen between July 30 and August 2 of this year. They were valued at $10,450.00.

11/24 ? Assist Other Agency – Callender Road: At 1:30 a.m. an officer assisted Mansfield police in attempting to stop a possible DWI. The vehicle driver failed to yield to the police vehicles and continued into Burleson. The male driver stopped and abandoned his vehicle, running into a wooded park. It was later learned that the driver had active arrest warrants issued for him.

11/24 ? Theft $100 to $750 – Greenview Lane: At 6:54 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) removed his lawnmower from his garage. The mower was valued at $359.00.
