This week, the Cats had a bye on Tuesday, giving the walking wounded a chance to rest and heal. Friday night, a week ago, the Wildcats defeated Benbrook, 64-43, to remain in a first place tie in District 9-4A with Dunbar (15-12, 9-1).?

Tonight, the Cats take on the 4th place team in District 9-4A, the Castleberry Lions. The Lions enter the game with a 21-8, 6-5 record. Castleberry should be the fourth team to represent the district in the UIL playoffs which start in two weeks.?Kennedale wraps up the season next Tuesday playing Western Hills (21-10, 7-3). Western Hills occupies third place in the current district standings.

Benbrook game story …?
- The Cats defeated Benbrook winning each quarter last week: 19-14 in the 1st; 9-5 in the 2nd for a halftime score of 28-19; 16-15 in the 3rd; and, 20-9 in the 4th for a final score of 64-43.?
- In the first quarter, Kennedale spotted Benbrook 6 points before scoring a point. The Cats did take control of middle of the quarter with a 15-0 run for a 17-6 score. Benbrook would never regain the lead in the game.
- Benbrook responded with their own 11-2 run that carried into Q2 and closed the score to two at 19-17. Kennedale regain their momentum by shutting down the Bobcats, allowing? two points and scoring nine for a halftime score of 28-19.?
- In the second half, Benbrook cut the lead to 4 early in the third but couldn?t maintain the drive as the Cats increased their lead to 15 points late in the 3rd quarter.?
- The Cat went on to claim the 4th as Benbrook tried to catch up with Wildcats but Kennedale sealed the win with a 12-0 run to end the game up 64-43.
- Scoring ? Tre Poe had a game high of 26 followed by Blake Taylor 10, Trey Poe 8, Scott Whorley 6, Jamal Downes?4, Versie Hodges 4, James Cain 2 and Robert Corbett 2, and Jamal Marshall 2.
Tonight’s game at Kennedale and Tuesday’s game at Western Hills will be at 8 p.m.??
