Tamiko Sargent, candidate for KISD School Board? Place 4, is a native of Kerens, Texas. She has always had a heart for education. {{more: continue …}}

She attended Navarro College where she received an Associate?s Degree and went on to Wiley College and earned her Bachelor?s degree in Education. After college, she moved to Amarillo, Texas and worked for the State of Texas for six years.
?
Working with children has been a lifelong commitment. She was the owner of Doris Daycare from 1995-2013, a foster parent from 2013-present. She is the founder of Trenton and Isaac Foundation for Foster Care. The foundation aids children in foster care and helps their parents to become better equipped to care for their children.
?
She?s very active in the community, assist with the elderly, and still maintains positive nurturing relationships with the children she helped raise at Doris Daycare. Her desire to improve the lives of families never stops.

Mrs. Sargent resides in Kennedale with her husband of 28 years, Matthew Sargent Sr. They have three grown children, a goddaughter and eleven grandchildren. The couple are owner of R&S and Irene?s logistics.
