The following is based on City of Kennedale Police reports for the time period given. This does not include calls for which no report was written, and some of these offenses — after further investigation — may be deemed unfounded.
Police Reports: 07/12/20 – 07/18/20
7/13 — Assault by Contact (Family Violence)
Oak Ridge Drive
At 9:39 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A father and two sons had engaged in a verbal altercation but no one was injured or struck.
7/13 — Vehicle Theft
W. Kennedale Parkway
At 9:32 p.m. an officer received a report of a stolen Honda Accord. The owner reported that a known female had taken the vehicle without his permission.
7/15 — Sexual Assault
Municipal Drive
On this date an officer received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in 2015. It was discovered that the offense occurred in Arlington. Arlington police were contacted and received the case file.
7/15 — Incident
Municipal Drive
On this date an officer received a report of inappropriate photos being sent to an adult’s phone via social media.
7/15 — Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence)
Kenney Street
At 6:40 p.m. an officer received a report of an assault that occurred on 07-12-2020. The victim reported being assaulted by two females while outside of her mother’s home.
7/16 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
Bloxom Park Road
At 9:10 a.m. officers responded to a welfare check. A female was found to be under the influence of narcotics and having a mental health crisis. The female was taken to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
7/17 — Abandoned/Found Property
Municipal Drive
On this date a female’s wallet was found in a patrol unit. The female had apparently left the wallet in the vehicle after being involved in an accident. The wallet was placed in the property room to be held until the female can pick it up.
7/16 — Theft $750 to $2,500
Mountain View Lane
At 8:17 p.m. an officer received a report of a juvenile suspect who cut off an ankle monitor and fled.
7/18 — Abandoned Vehicle
Mansfield Cardinal Road
At 5:03 p.m. an officer responded to an abandoned vehicle in a roadway. A Dodge Caliber was found to be blocking the road and no owner could be located. The vehicle was towed to impound.
7/18 — Driving While Intoxicated
N. Little School Road
At 7:20 p.m. officers responded to a single-vehicle accident. The driver of the vehicle involved was arrested for DWI after being unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was transported to jail where a blood draw was conducted.
7/18 — Public Intoxication
Derby Drive
At 7:49 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female had gotten into a verbal argument with her fiancé. The female was asked to leave the residence. While waiting for a ride, the female again got into another argument and then tried to walk into the street. She was placed under arrest due to being intoxicated. She was transported to jail for booking.
Police Reports: 07/19/20 – 07/25/20
7/19 — Leave Child in Open Vehicle
W. Kennedale Parkway
At 1:06 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle parked at a convenience store. The officer observed an unattended child in the vehicle. Medics were called due to the vehicle being turned off and the child appeared to be sweating heavily. Several minutes later the mother of the child came out to the vehicle. She at first refused to identify herself to the officer. After several minutes the officer was able to identify the female. She was charged with failure to identify and leaving a child in a vehicle. A report was made to CPS as well.
7/19 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
Bowman Springs Drive
At 9:20 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult male was located in the front of a residence. The male appeared to be in mental and physical distress. The male’s parents were present and stated that he has a history of narcotics usage. The male was transported by ambulance to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation as well as a medical evaluation.
7/20 — Burglary of Vehicle
E. Kennedale Parkway
At 10:39 a.m. an officer received a report of a vehicle burglary. Unknown suspect(s) had entered a vehicle that was for sale and removed the stereo unit. The vehicle was left unsecured over the weekend.
7/20 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
S. New Hope Road
At 9:21 p.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. Residents reported that a male was walking in the area and was behaving strangely. Officers located the male in a nearby field. The male, who was clad only in undershorts, stated that he removed his clothing to go swimming. He stated that he was in Waco at his parents house. The male was disoriented and confused, appearing to be under the influence of a narcotic. The male was taken into custody for an emergency mental detention and evaluation. He was transported to JPS Hospital without incident.
7/21 — Theft $2,500 to $30,000
Valley Lane
At 11:27 a.m. an officer received a report of a stolen vehicle.
7/21 — Criminal Mischief $2,500 to $30,000
W. Kennedale Parkway
At 4:48 p.m. an officer received a report of damage to a business. A company employee became upset with the on-site manager and threw the cash registers to the floor. The employee left before officers arrived.
7/22 — Recovered Stolen Vehicle (Other Agency)
Peachtree Court
At 12:21 a.m. officers were notified of a stolen vehicle located in Kennedale. The vehicle was located and confirmed to be stolen out of Arlington. The vehicle was impounded to be held for the Arlington Police Department.
7/23 — Burglary
E. Kennedale Parkway
At 4:09 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered his home and removed a 9mm handgun. The burglary occurred while the owner was out of town.
7/23 — Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence)
Peachtree Court
At 5:00 p.m. a victim reported being assaulted by her boyfriend. The assault occurred during an argument. The victim’s nose was bloody from being punched by a closed fist. The suspect left before officers arrived.
7/23 — Burglary
S. Eden Road
At 6:08 a.m. a victim reported that a power drill was removed from his business. The victim was able to identify a suspect.
7/24 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
N. Little School Road
At 7:26 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A father and his juvenile son were located. The son was experiencing mental distress and was determined to be a threat to himself and others. The juvenile was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
7/25 — Theft Under $100
N. Dick Price Road
At 4:48 p.m. an officer received a theft report. A victim reported unknown person(s) removed a floor jack and tools from his property.
7/25 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
Whitley Court
At 8:55 p.m. officers responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed person. An adult male was located who appeared to be in serious mental and physical distress. He was transported to JPS Hospital for treatment and an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
