KHS Wildcat and Lady Kat track teams overwhelmingly the 9-4A District Champs

?The 9-4A District Track Meet was held at

Kennedale High School April 3-4, 2019 and the home teams strutted their stuff.

The Wildcats won the district title by 43 points, while the Lady Kats, not to

be out done, out distant their closes competitor by 86 points. {{more: continue …}}

Wildcat district champs ?

The Wildcats won the district title with a

combine point total of 172. Benbrook earned 2^nd place with 129

followed by Castleberry with 122, Lake Worth 84, Western Hills 69, Diamond

Hill-Jarvis 12 and Dunbar with 8.

Kennedale finished in first place in 6

different events, second in 6 others and another 6 in third place. The total

count of individual medals won, including for the relay teams, had the Wildcats

winning a total of total of 27.

• Darius Johnson (SO), Elijah Williams (JR) and Kade Stephenson (SR)

  finished 1, 2 and 3 in the 200 Meters. Johnson won the gold with a time of 22.27a.

• Elijah Williams (JR) and Antwon Watson (SR) finished 1 and 2 in the 400 meters. Williams

  had a 50.98a for gold.

• Eaden Bowman (FR), Caleb Hall (SR), Brandon Haub (FR) finished 2, 6 and 7 in the

  800 meters. Bowman grabbed the silver with a 2:10.72a.

• Brandon Haub (FR), Caleb Hall (SR), Eaden Bowman (FR)

  finished 5, and 9 in 1600 meters. Haub had a 5:08.03a.

• Jordan Saunders (JR) and Braden Gaston (FR) finished 1 and 3 in the 110m 39? hurdles.

  Saunders had a 16.28a for the gold.

• Jordan Saunders (JR) and Braden Gaston (FR) finished 1 and 2 in the 300 meter 36?

  hurdles. Saunders finished with 40.94a

• Marleet Joyner (SO), Frank Brooks (SO), Kade Stephenson (SR) and Darrius Johnson (SO)

  finished 3^rd in the 4×100, earning bronze with a 44.54a.

  finished 1 and 2 in the high jump. Johnson earned gold with a 6-02.00.

• George Morris (SO) finished 3^rd in the high jump with a jump of 5-06.00

• Kade Stephenson (SR), Elijah Williams (JR) and

  Travis Neyhart (FR) finished 4, 7 and 9 in the long jump. Stephenson had a jump

• Jaden Smith (SR) and Jackson Jones (SO) finished 2 and 9 in the triple jump. Smith

  earned silver with a jump of 42-05.00.

Both the Wildcat and Lady Kat 4×400 teams won gold at the district meet

Lady Kats District Champs ?

The Lady Kats earned the title with a total 212

points. Second place Benbrook had 126

points followed by Castleberry with 119, Dunbar 68, Lake Worth 47, Western Hills

5 and Diamond Hill-Jarvis 4.

The Lady Kats struck gold in 8 different events,

silver in another 9. All together the

total individual medal count added up to 26.

• Alexis Brown (SR), Skylar Lewis (SO) and Brianna Brand (SO) finished 1, 2 and 4 in the 100 meter dash.

  Brown had 11.58a for gold.

• Alexis Brown (SR), Skylar Lewis (SO) and Daniell Cooper (JR) went 1, 2 and 5 in

  the 200 meters. Brown had a 24.58a for gold.

• Tamia Tubbs (SO) and Jasmine Shepard (JR) finished 2 and 4 in the 400 Meters.
