KISD meets tonight to consider a number of items

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, the Board of Trustees of the Kennedale Independent School District will hold a regular meeting at 7:00 PM at the Kennedale High School Media Center, 901 Wildcat Way, Kennedale, Texas. {{more: continue …}}

Besides the monthly financials and the minutes under the consent agenda, the KISD Board will be considering the following.

Consent agenda (items approved in one motion and unless asked to be considered separately)

• Approve agreement with Tarrant County for the collection of taxes,

• Authorization for Jimmy C. Adams, Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance; Chad Gee, Superintendent of Schools; and, Jeanette Franklin, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent to be named as authorized representative for the KISD when dealing with certain other entities,

• Approve extending depository contract with Wells Fargo Bank, NA.

Old business ?

• discuss and take action on storm water drainage across KISD property located on Sublett RD (closed session).

New business ?

• Review a TASB staffing study (a power point presentation will be presented at the meeting),

• Consider proposal from a new independent auditing firm, James E Rodgers and Company, P.C. – Certified Public Accountants. Long time district auditing firm, Kirk and Richardson Company, P.C., have removed themselves from consideration. Proposal,
  

• Consider nomination of KISD Trustee member for TASB Board ? Region 11,

• Review resignations/retirement effective at the end of the school year for Presette Robinson (being rehired for 2019-20 as a late hire in the this school year), Sidney Danner (KHS Science & Soccer Head Coach), Kenneth Jowers (KHS Math & Football Offensive Coordinator), Joseph Lucero (KHS Math & Football assistant and Head Coach for boys powerlifting – resigning only coaching duties). Hannah Ramirez (KJHS English & Volleyball, Basketball and Track), Kari Funderburk (KJHS School Nurse). Resignations,
  

• Hirings for 2019-20 inlcude Presette Robinson, district-wide; Tyler Broadhurst, KHS; Joey Lucero, KHS teacher only; Angela Bruce, KJHS; Jennifer Haub, KJHS; and, Melanie McDonald, James Arthur. Hirings.
