Did you know that there is a garden oasis right by the clock tower in Town Center Park? ? {{more: Continue ?}}?The Keep Kennedale Beautiful Commission has worked many years getting their Demonstration Garden to where it is today. It is filled with Native Texas plants that all attract Butterflies, Bees and Hummingbirds.It is a great photo opt for anyone doing pictures right now. Everything is in bloom! There is a bench to sit on in the midst of the flowers or the KKB ROCK, Hudson, is there just waiting to be in your photos. You can also use the beautiful entry arbor for a picture. The clock tower is also bursting in Petunia blooms!Have you been wondering just what you need to plant to make your own Butterfly Garden???Nearly all of the plants in the garden are labeled so you will know what they are. They all either produce nectar for all the pollinators or they are a food source for the caterpillars.We had one man tell us we needed to sprinkle seven dust on our Bronze Fennel and Dill because it was covered with these big worms eating all the blooms! We quickly explained that we wanted them to eat it. Those aren’t worms, but Swallow Tail Butterfly Caterpillars!Please take a little time to tour it soon. Some of the city employees get great enjoyment out of taking their lunch in the garden.There have been too many volunteer hours to count that have gone into making this city garden for the community to enjoy! This is not a board that stays in chambers voting on things to bring before the council, although they also do that. This board is always out in the city physically working.
