It may have the Longhorns first offer for 2021, but they were not the first to beat path to Coffey?s mailbox. This is not the first time for a Wildcat to garner this type of attention in recent years. A year before Coffey earned his rookie all-state honor, KHS senior linebacker Baron Browning finished his high school career as a 4-year all-state player. Above average frame relative to projected position. Adequate height with space to add good weight to frame. Well-rounded safety prospect. Covers a ton of territory at the back end of the defense. Instinctive in coverage and tracks the deep ball almost like a receiver. Quick to react. Shows good ball skills. Great production (12 INT’s as a freshman/sophomore). Flashes physical style against the run, paired with encouraging tackling technique and pop behind his pads. Good short-area quickness and redirects with relative ease. Good initial burst and acceleration. Fast enough but can improve top-end speed. Lean, athletic build will need to continue adding bulk to maximize strength at the next level. Shows free safety awareness and ballhawking ability with strong safety/spacebacker frame potential. Impressive natural football player who projects to high-major level and owns long-term NFL Draft potential. ? 247Sports regional analyst Gabe Brooks?Kennedale will open the regular season at Decatur on August 30, 2019.?
