The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 14 incidents for the one week period October 27, 2019, through November 2, 2019. The reports included drugs/narcotics, aggravated assault with injury, burglary of vehicle, sexual assault, death investigation, warrant arrest and theft.? {{more: continue …}}?These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. Drugs/Narcotics?Dick Price Road – At 5:50 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle was occupied by one male and three females. The adult female driver attempted to change seats with the adult female passenger but was stopped by the officer. The vehicle interior smelled of marijuana. During the subsequent interview the driver was found to be in possession of two pipes, and a grinder, all used for the purpose of smoking marijuana. The driver was issued a citation for drug paraphernalia. The contraband was seized as evidence.?10/28 ? Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon?Trent Street -?At 12:11 p.m. a victim came to the police department building to report an assault. The adult female reported that she had just been assaulted by a known female suspect. The suspect struck the victim with a set of keys and well kicked her in the head. The victim exhibited injuries consistent with her story and paramedics were summoned to check the victim?s condition. Paramedics assessed that the victim needed to be seen at a hospital. She was transported to Mansfield Methodist by ambulance.?10/28 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Corry A. Edwards Drive -?At 9:39 a.m. a female victim reported that she had discovered an unknown male rummaging through her vehicle while parked in a public parking area. The male ran from the scene and left in a brown Ford Explorer Sport Track. Nothing was taken from the victim?s vehicle.?10/28 ? Sexual Assault?4th Street -?On this date, a juvenile female victim and her mother came to the police department to report a sexual assault. The assault occurred after a party that the juvenile hosted on 10/25/2019. The victim believes that someone placed a narcotic in something that she drank. The unknown substance caused her to be semi-conscious. It was during this time that the assault occurred. The victim was able to name two known possible suspects.?10/29 ? Sexual Assault?Cedar Ridge Drive -?On this date, a juvenile student made an outcry of a sexual assault to a school resource officer. The exact location and suspect information are unknown at this time but it is still under investigation. CPS is also conducting an investigation in conjunction with the police department.?10/30 ? Death Investigation?Mansfield Cardinal Road -?At 4:45 a.m. officers responded to a death investigation. An adult male was discovered deceased by a family member. It appeared that narcotics may have played a part in the death. Heroin was found at the scene.?10/30 ? Assault by Contact (Family Member) – At 10:21 a.m. officers responded to a family disturbance. Multiple people were on the scene when officers arrived. A 50-year-old male suspect had become upset for an unknown reason and assaulted two family members who were on the scene. The two victims? accounts were confirmed by other people on the scene at the time. The suspect was charged with the assault.?10/31 ? Incident?Oak Crest Dr. W. -?At 10: 27 p.m. an officer responded to a suspicious vehicle. The white Ford truck was parked in a neighborhood on the side of the road. A license check revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Fort Worth the day before. The vehicle was impounded to be held for Fort Worth.?11/01 ? Theft $750 to $2,500?Sunrise Drive -?At 12:25 p.m. an officer received a report of a stolen cell phone. The male victim reported that a known female suspect had stolen his cell phone during an argument. The suspect was contacted by phone but refused to return the phone.?11/01 ? Assault Bodily Injury?E. Mistletoe Drive -?At 9:04 p.m. an officer received a report of an assault on a school campus. A juvenile victim was assaulted by a juvenile female suspect. A teacher was able to break up the altercation and take the victim to the office.?11/02 ? Prohibited Substance in Correction Facility?Heritage Parkway -?At 2:31 a.m. an officer responded to the Mansfield jail to pick up marijuana that had been secreted on an arrestee?s person. The narcotic was located when the arrestee removed his clothing.?11/02 ? Warrant Arrest?W. Kennedale Parkway -?On this date, officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver had no operator?s license and advised the officers that he had a parole violation warrant issued for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed for violation of parole/dangerous drugs. During the arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. The vehicle he was driving was stolen and was impounded. The suspect was transported to jail for booking.?11/02 ? Application for Mental Detention and Observation -?At 5:16 p.m. officers responded to a welfare check. A male caller stated that he was concerned about his wife?s welfare and that she might be suicidal. Officers found the female in the garage inside of a vehicle. After interviewing the female and consulting with the MHMR police liaison, it was determined that the female needed to be detained on an emergency mental detention and evaluation. She was transported to JPS Hospital for the evaluation.?11/02 ? Theft Under $100?Briarwood Road -?At 4:49 p.m. a victim reported the rear license plate from her vehicle was taken.?Link: Kennedale Police Department ?
