The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 11 incidents for the one week period November 10, 2019, through November 16, 2019. The reports included DWI, criminal trespass, open container, terroristic threat, burglary of vehicle, unlawful use of criminal instrument (skimmer), drug paraphernalia, failure to identify, theft, and abandoned/found property.??{{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, have been deemed unfounded.

11/10 ? Driving While Intoxicated?E. Kennedale Parkway …?On this date, an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult male driver appeared to be intoxicated. He was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The suspect was arrested for DWI and was transported to jail for booking. A warrant was obtained for a mandatory blood draw after the driver refused to voluntarily consent.

11/10 ? Criminal Trespass?Oak Crest Dr. East …?At 3:05 p.m. officers responded to a possible vehicle burglary report. A suspect was observed on security video entering a vehicle storage lot by jumping a security fence. The complainant believes that the suspect may have removed an item from a vehicle but isn?t sure what. A possible suspect name and vehicle is being followed up on by officers.

11/11 ? Open Container/Passenger Area?Dick Price Road …?On this date, an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The adult male driver smelled of an alcoholic beverage but was able to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. There were two open containers of beer in the vehicle. The driver was cited and released.

11/12 ? Terroristic Threat (domestic disturbance) … At 1:48 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim reported being threatened by her husband, who was on scene at the time of the call. The suspect left before officers could respond to the scene. A report was taken and information provided to the victim on filing for a protective order. Officers responded again at 3:58 a.m. and 5:34 a.m. but the suspect was not at the location on their arrival. Officers did make telephone contact with the suspect, who made verbal statements about the incidents in question. He refused to make a written statement at the police station until speaking to an attorney.

11/13 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Tealpond Drive …?At 8:55 a.m. an officer received a report of a vehicle burglary. During the overnight hours, unknown persons removed two tail light assemblies from the victim?s vehicle.

11/13 ? Unlawful Use of Criminal Instrument … 100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway

At 4:04 p.m. an officer received a report of skimmer devices attached to gas pumps. The devices were seized as evidence.

11/14 ? Drug Paraphernalia, Fail to Identify (Fugitive)?W. Kennedale Parkway …?At 12:06 a.m. officers responded to a suspicious person at a business. The male suspect refused to leave the business when asked by employees. He was located and verbally identified himself to officers. The name was not located in any database. On further investigation officers were able to obtain a possible name for the suspect through a law enforcement database and used a photo sent to the patrol unit?s mobile computer to verify his identity. The suspect was found to have warrants issued for his arrest for drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. During a search of the suspect?s backpack officers located syringes and a spoon used to prepare heroin for injection. He was charged for this paraphernalia as well. The suspect was transported to jail for booking on all charges, including Failure to Identify (Fugitive).

11/13 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000?E. Broadway Street …?At 2:25 p.m. a victim reported that an employee of the victim?s company had stolen a paint sprayer and pawned the item. The employee had already been terminated and the victim had the pawn ticket in his possession. The pawnshop was notified to place the sprayer on hold.

11/13 ? Theft $750 to $2,500?North Road …?At 4:01 p.m. a victim reported that a known person had stolen the victim?s cell phone. The suspect was not on scene at the time of the report.

11/15 ? Drug Paraphernalia?N. Little School Road …?At 9:11 p.m. officers responded to a report of an accident. A male driver had struck a sign in the traffic roundabout at Little Road and Sublett Road. No injuries were reported.

11/16 ? Abandoned/Found Property 200 block W. Kennedale Parkway …?At 3:10 p.m. a citizen brought a debit card to the police station. The card was found at a local ATM. The owner of the card was contacted but could not get to Kennedale to pick it up at the time of the report. The card was placed in evidence for safekeeping.
