Both the Kennedale LadyKat and the Wildcat are into district play with games tonight against Castleberry. The Wildcats will play at Castleberry at 6 pm and the LadyKats will follow at 7:30pm. {{more: continue …}}

The Wildcats currently have an overall record of 6-5-6. Their opponent tonight is Castleberry (9-1-2, 0-0). Castleberry is coming off a 4-2 win over Decatur (6-1, 0-0).

Kennedale plays in a strong district with Diamond Hill-Jarvis (7-1-2, O-0) and Castleberry pegged to compete for the district title along with Kennedale and Western Hills (5-3-0).

Last year the Wildcats finished 18-11-2 and were second in District 8/4A with a record of 9-3 hust behind Castleberry. The Cats made it to the 4A UIL Region I Quarterfinals before the season ended.

So far this season the Wildcats posted wins over Mabank 2-0, Oak Cliff Family 3-2, Ferris 3-1, Granbury 6-0, Dallas Kimball 3-1, Stephenville 4-1.

Ties in tournament play have been with Life Oak Cliff 1-1, Pine Tree 2-2, Oak Cliff Family 2-2, Ferris 0-0, La Vega 1-1, and Inspired Vision 1-1.

Losses have been at the hands of Palestine 2-0, Inspired Vision 2-1, Mansfield 7-0, Kilgore 3-0, and Palestine 5-0.

The Kennedale LadyKats are currently 6-3 heading into District 8/4A play against the Caslteberry Lady Lions who are 7-2-0. In the district, Kennedale can expect challenges from Castleberry (7-2, 0-0), Diamond Hill-Jarvis (4-1-1, 0-0), Benbrook (6-4-1, 0-0) and Lake Worth (6-4-3, 0-0).

Last year, the Kats tied Castleberry for the district title and finished the season overall 15-0-1 and were 9-2 in district play. Their? season ended in the UIL 4A Region 1 Quarterfinals.

The LadyKats have scored wins this season over Brownwood 3-0, Argyle 1-0, FTW Poly 9-0, Paris 1-0, and Kaufman 6-0. Their three losses have come to Stephenville 3-1, Athens 3-1 and Salado 4-0.

In MaxPreps rankings, Kennedale is listed at #21 in Class 4A while Castleberry is in at #18. Head Coach is Patrick Hughes.
