The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the three week period January 5, 2020 through January 25, 2020. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, have been deemed unfounded.

Police Reports: 01/05/20 ? 01/11/20

  • 1/05 ? Abandoned/Found Property,?Kennedale Parkway:? At 6:06 p.m. an officer was on a traffic stop. A pedestrian walked up to make contact and advise that she had found a set of keys on the sidewalk. The keys were taken to be placed in property for safekeeping.
  • 1/06 ? Arrest,?E. IH 20:??At 6:04 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. On approaching the vehicle, the temporary tag on the vehicle was found to be expired. The adult male driver claimed to have just purchased the vehicle a few days earlier. The male did not have a driver?s license or insurance for the vehicle. He also had arrest warrants issued from Bedford. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking. The vehicle was impounded.
  • 1/06 ? Drugs/Narcotics,?W. Kennedale Parkway:?At 5:55 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration. During the initial contact with the driver, the officer smelled an odor of what was believed to be marijuana emitting from the vehicle?s interior. The driver advised the officer that there was marijuana in the vehicle. Officer found a large amount of marijuana in the vehicle along with scales to weigh out the narcotic. The driver also had multiple arrest warrants issued out of Benbrook. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The vehicle was impounded and the narcotic placed in evidence.
  • 1/07 ? Hit and Run Accident,?Pine Meadow Drive:??At 6:35 a.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. A witness reported that an unknown silver passenger car had struck a parked vehicle and pushed it into two motorcycles that were parked nearby. The damaged vehicle and motorcycles were owned by the same person.
  • 1/09 ? Drugs/Narcotics,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 12:46 a.m. an officer stopped to check a suspicious vehicle parked at a closed business. The vehicle?s dome light was illuminated but no one was around the vehicle. An open container of alcohol was in plain view in the passenger compartment. A male was located walking from an open business in the vicinity. The male explained that he had been drinking earlier and stated he was looking for a ride home. He also stated that he had just returned from Mexico. During the interview with the male, it was discovered that he was in possession of cocaine and a vape pen containing what is believed to be THC oil. He was placed under arrest for the narcotics.
  • 1/09 ? Burglary,??E. Kennedale Parkway:? At 8:59 a.m. an officer responded to a burglary report. A victim reported that his storage unit was illegally entered. Possible known suspect(s) removed two portable generators.
  • 1/09 ? Violation of Bond/Protective Order,?Hunters Haven Drive:? At 6:07 p.m. officers were dispatched to the location for an investigation. A female phoned dispatch and stated that her ex-husband was at the residence in violation of a protective order. On arrival, no one was at the residence. The complainant/female was contacted but she refused to return. Dispatch advised the officers that they were unable to locate an active protective order on the suspect, who had left the residence and drove to the police department to speak with officers. The suspect stated that he had a court order against his ex-wife that she could not be on the property. He stated he went to check on the property and left when he saw her there. He also told officers that he did not have a copy of the court order at the time of the report. After speaking with the officers, the suspect was released due to the protective order not being in dispatch.
  • 1/09 ? Investigation,?Border Lane:??At 9:30 a.m. a school resource officer received a report of sexual contact between two students. A male and female had allegedly been sexually active outside of school and had made a video. The mother of the female was present and stated that she is aware of her child?s behavior. She did not wish to file charges.
  • 1/09 ? Burglary of Vehicle,?Cydne Street:??At 4:49 p.m. an officer received a report of a vehicle burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered an unsecured Nissan Altima and removed a .357 revolver.
  • 1/10 ? Harassment,?N. Little School Road:??At 12:07 p.m. a female victim reported that she received a call at work threatening her if she didn?t transfer money to an unknown person. The victim believed the call to be a prank.
  • 1/10 ? Unlawful Carrying Weapon,?Wildcat Way:??At 1:50 p.m. a school resource officer assisted the high school staff in a complaint of a student with a firearm. The student was in possession of an unloaded firearm, which was in his backpack. The student was taken into custody immediately and removed from campus by officers.
  • 1/10 ? Abandoned/Found Property,?Arthur Drive:? At 3:19 p.m. an officer received a found iPhone at the police department. The phone was placed in property.
  • 1/11 ? Driving While Intoxicated, S. Dick Price Road:??At 9:46 p.m. an officer responded to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was found idling in the roadway. The adult female driver stated she was letting her vehicle warm up. The female appeared to be intoxicated. She was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The female was placed under arrest for DWI. She was transported to jail for booking, where a voluntary blood draw was performed as well.?

Police Reports: 01/12/20 ? 01/18/20

  • 1/12 ? Sexual Assault Child,?3rd Street:??At 8:54 p.m. officers responded to a report of a sexual assault of a child. A female victim made an outcry to her parents in regards to a sexual assault that occurred over a year earlier. The suspect is known to the family. The investigation is on-going.?
  • 1/12 ? Drugs/Narcotics,?Bowman Springs Road:??On this date, an officer stopped a vehicle for a violation. During the interview, the driver was found to have multiple arrest warrants out of Arlington. He was also in possession of marijuana and a stolen handgun with ammunition. The suspect was placed under arrest for transport to jail.
  • 1/13 ? Criminal Trespass, Spring Branch Lane:??At 4:40 p.m. a complainant reported to police that unknown person(s) had entered his unoccupied property. Nothing was damaged or stolen.
  • 1/13 ? Investigation,?S. Eden Road:??At 2:54 p.m. an officer received a complaint about harassment. A victim reported that he had a business disagreement with a customer. The victim reported that the suspect sent him a text message with a hyperlink attached. When the victim clicked on the link his phone warned of a possible phishing attempt. The victim reported that his phone began to function differently. He is concerned that it may be compromised. The victim stated that he will turn his phone into the police for analysis as soon as he gets a new replacement.
  • 1/14 ? Animal Bite,?North Road:??At 10:06 a.m. officers responded to a dog bite complaint. A female victim reported that a known dog bit her while she walking home. Paramedics treated and transported the victim to MCA Hospital. Officer spoke to the animal?s veterinarian to confirm that the animal is current on vaccinations.?
  • 1/14 ? Theft from Person,?Bluebonnet Lane:??At 6:53 p.m. a victim reported that she had tried to sell an iPhone 11 through an app. The buyer asked to meet at the listed location. The buyer/suspect grabbed the phone and ran away. The victim was able to identify a suspect.
  • 1/14 ? Theft $750 to $2,500,?Bluebonnet Lane:??At 8:41 p.m. a victim reported that he had tried to sell an iPhone 11 through an app. The buyer set up a meeting at the listed location. The victim reported that the buyer/suspect walked out of a wooded area and up to the car. The suspect grabbed the phone and ran back through the woods. The victim gave chase and observed the suspect leave in a black Chevrolet Impala. The victim gave the license plate number to the officer taking the report.
  • 1/15 ? Burglary of Vehicle,?Fawn Meadow Trail:??At 2:12 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) removed the license plate from his 2013 Ford truck.?
  • 1/15 ? Drugs/Narcotics,?Wildcat Way:??At 2:20 p.m. a school resource officer was contacted by a student. The student reported that she was given a metal tin earlier by another student. The tin was found to contain numerous pills. The student who originally handed the tin to the reporting student was contacted. The investigation is on-going.
  • 1/16 ? Hit and Run Accident,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 6:54 a.m. a victim reported that she was struck by another vehicle while driving. The other vehicle spun out and stopped. The victim stopped and the other driver asked if she was okay. When the victim answered yes the other driver left the scene.
  • 1/15 ? Threaten/Exhibit Firearm (School),?Wildcat Way:??At 1:50 p.m. a school resource officer received a Crime Stoppers tip that a known male had made threats to several students for speaking disrespectfully to his girlfriend. The officer made contact with a student who stated that on January 10th, a female had shown a video of her and her boyfriend during a sexual encounter off campus. The video was shown to several male students. The male students made remarks that the female didn?t like and she called her boyfriend, a student who was not present at the school during the interaction. The boyfriend is alleged to have responded to the school while in possession of a firearm. The males had left by that time and the suspect left. The case is still under investigation.
  • 1/17 ? Fail to Register (Sex Offender),?Municipal Drive:??On December 10, 2019, Kennedale police were informed of a sex offender who had temporarily taken up residence in Kennedale for employment purposes. The offender was required by Texas law to register while he is here and to notify his home state (New Hampshire) when he returned. The suspect failed to report to Kennedale police when he left and also to New Hampshire police when we returned. A warrant has been issued for his arrest out of New Hampshire.
  • 1/17 ? Driving While Intoxicated,?Spring Branch Lane:??At 10:19 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. The suspect was identified to officers and dispatch stated that the suspect had left the residence in a Dodge truck. As officers were on scene investigating, the suspect drove back to the scene. A female at the residence stated that they had been arguing verbally but not physically. The suspect, who had been drinking earlier, was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The suspect was arrested for DWI but refused a voluntary blood draw. A warrant was secured for the blood sample and the suspect was transported to jail for booking and the blood draw.
  • 1/17 ? Hit and Run Accident,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 6:16 p.m. a victim reported that his silver Lexus was struck by another vehicle while he was waiting to enter Kennedale Parkway. The other vehicle, a white 4 door, was occupied by a female who asked the victim if he was calling police. When he said yes the female drove out on the I-20 service road to leave.
  • 1/17 ? Alcohol/Consumption by Minor,?Wildcat Way:??At 11:05 a.m. a school resource officer received a Crime Stopper tip of a student being intoxicated at school. A female was located and found to be drinking an alcoholic beverage out of a water bottle.
  • 1/18 ? Theft $100 to $750,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 4:59 p.m. a store manager reported that two unknown males entered the store and removed six cases of beer without paying. The theft was caught on security video as was the suspect vehicle and license plate number.
  • 1/18 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence),?North Road:??At 8:51 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. On arrival the suspect, a female, had locked herself in the residence and refused to allow officers to enter. Officers met outside with the victim, another female, who stated that she and the suspect, who is the victim?s sister?s girlfriend, were in an argument that became physical. The victim exhibited injuries consistent with her account of events. Phots were taken of the victim?s injuries, which required no medical treatment. The suspect was identified by previous calls to the location. Since the assault was a misdemeanor not committed in the officers? presence, a warrant will be issued later.?

Police Reports: 01/19/20 ? 01/25/20

  • 1/19 ? Drugs/Narcotics,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 7:03 p.m. officers responded to a vehicle accident. On arrival, a motorist reported being struck from the rear by another motorist traveling at a high rate of speed. The second vehicle had stopped and was still at the scene. Officers contacted the second driver, who they determined had been drinking an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested for DWI and transported to jail for booking. An inventory of the vehicle revealed that the suspect was also in possession of marijuana, for which he will be charged as well. A blood draw warrant was obtained due to his failure to provide a voluntary sample. The driver was found to have two prior convictions for DWI.
  • 1/19 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence):??At 8:17 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female stated that she was attempting to pick up her granddaughter. The child lives at the residence with her father and his girlfriend. The grandmother stated that she had to knock on the door for several minutes before the father answered the door. She reported smelling marijuana and attempted to force the door open to get her granddaughter. The grandmother stated that she didn?t want the child, who is 5 years old, exposed to the smoking of the narcotic. When the grandmother tried to force her way into the residence, the father refused her entrance and pushed her backward several times to get her away from the door. When officers arrived, neither party reported being offended or injured in the disturbance. The father agreed to allow officers to check on the child. During the check, officers smelled the marijuana and observed indications that it was being used in the home. A report was generated to CPS. No charges were filed for the disturbance.
  • 1/19 ? Assault Family Violence (Impede Breath/Circulation):??At 4:09 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim reported that the suspect, her mother, had assaulted her during a verbal argument. The victim stated that she was arguing with her mother about the victim?s perception that the suspect disciplines her child more than the victim?s sister?s child. All parties live in the same residence. The victim reported that while arguing with the suspect, the suspect assaulted her by choking her, causing difficulty in breathing. Officers did not find any injuries consistent with the victim?s choking claim. The suspect stated to officers that the victim aggressively charged her during the argument and the suspect pushed the victim back away from her. The suspect?s story was supported by the victim?s sister. The suspect stated that she currently has custody of the victim?s children due to the victim previously assaulting the suspect in another city. Due to no primary aggressor being identified, officers were unable to file assault charges at the time of the report. The victim left with a friend who picked her up. CPS was also notified due to the children being present during the altercation.
  • 1/19 ? Theft $100 to $750,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 10:25 p.m. a victim reported that cash was taken from his backpack while he played soccer at an indoor arena. The backpack was left on the team bench while the victim played in a game.?
  • 1/19 ? Public Intoxication/Alcohol,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 10:21 p.m. an officer was flagged down by a male. The male appeared to be intoxicated. He was determined by the officer to be a danger to himself and others. The male was placed under arrest for public intoxication. He was transported to jail for booking.
  • 1/22 ? Aggravated Sexual Assault,?Wildcat Way:??At 4:00 p.m. a school resource officer was assisting a mother whose two foster children were missing. While looking for the students in the auditorium, the mother commented that she did not like that area because one of her children alleged that she had been sexually assaulted there earlier in the year. The mother stated that she didn?t report the allegation as she believed her child would not cooperate with the investigation. A case file was opened.
  • 1/23 ? Incident (Other),?S. Kenny Street:??At 4:51 p.m. a parent contacted Kennedale police to report concerns about her child, a juvenile female. The parent stated that friends of the child reported that she had pornography on her phone. The parent checked the child?s phone and found inappropriate sexual photos of the child. The parent deleted the material. A report has been generated so that the child and parent can be referred to appropriate services.
  • 1/24 ? Injury to a Child (Bodily Injury):? At 8:55 p.m. a school resource officer was alerted to a child with an injury at Delaney Elementary. A staff member reported to the officer that a child at school had bruising on her wrist. The student reported that the bruise was the result of discipline from the child?s parent at home. A family violence report was generated as well as a CPS referral. The child gave no indication of on-going fear of violence within her home.
  • 1/24 ? Missing Person (Juvenile),?Mountain View Lane:??At 4:53 p.m. a complainant filed a runaway report on his juvenile stepson leaving home. The stepson left the home earlier in the day to go to a family member?s home in Dallas County. The juvenile never showed up.
  • 1/24 ? Evading Arrest or Detention (Vehicle),?Fawn Meadow Trail:??At 7:29 p.m. an officer attempted to stop a red Chevrolet for a traffic violation. The vehicle attempted to flee from the officer but finally stopped at Rogers Farm Park. The three occupants fled in different directions but the officer was able to take one of the occupants into custody. The passenger claimed no to know who the other two persons in the vehicle were. Dispatch confirmed that the vehicle was reported as stolen out of Fort Worth. The vehicle was impounded to be held for Fort Worth police.
  • 1/25 ? Deadly Conduct (Discharge Firearm),?Sublett Road:??At 4:48 p.m. officers responded to a shooting call. Two witnesses reported that a dark-colored Chevrolet extended cab truck had stopped in the traffic lane in the 300 block of Sublett Road. The vehicle occupant(s) fired multiple gunshots from the vehicle into a vacant wooded lot. No reports of injuries or damage from the gunshots were received. The call is still under investigation.
  • 1/23 ? Theft of Materials ALUM/BRNZ/COPPER/BRASS,?W. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:30 a.m. a victim reported that an unknown person had entered his business storage yard and removed loose copper wiring. The theft was observed on security video.
  • 1/24 ? Criminal Mischief Under $100,?Susan Drive:??At 11:04 a.m. a victim reported that his mailbox was damaged by an unknown person or vehicle. The damage occurred between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
  • 1/24 ? Theft $100 to $750,?W. Kennedale Parkway:??At 2:41 p.m. a store manager contacted police to report a beer theft. Two male suspects entered the business and removed several cases of beer, leaving the premises in a white passenger car. The manager stated that the suspects and vehicle were the same as a previous theft that was captured on store security video several days earlier.??
