“To clarify, the patient passed away at the hospital due to preexisting health conditions not related to COVID. All three cases are linked back to hospital stays and did not originate within the Pecan Manor facility nor were the cases spread between patients within the facility.
?
The two remaining cases remain asymptomatic and a full recovery is soon expected. None of the patients showed any symptoms through the Pecan Manor?s routine daily COVID screening and assessments. All patients and staff were tested nearly two weeks ago, which confirmed that there is not a large outbreak within the facility.
?
Pecan Manor has worked openly with state and county officials throughout this process and has followed all protocols. In fact, the facility has gone above and beyond all guidance provided by CDC, HHSC, and other governing bodies to prevent the spread of this virus and protect its employees and patients.
?
The Pecan Manor staff has done an incredible job in fighting COVID-19 while preventing the unnecessary spread of the virus, and should be commended for their heroic efforts. We are grateful for the overwhelming support the facility has received from the community, residents, and their family members.”
