The annual cycle ride that honors those who lost their lives on 9-11 and a memorial service at the 9-11 Memorial site at TownCenter Park in Kennedale has been set for Saturday, September 9, 2017. {{more: Read more …}}
 
The City of Kennedale has been the designation site for this annual event since the memorial ride’s inception in 2015 as Kennedale is home to a 12 foot steel beam from the World Trade Center. The Kennedale’s memorial was completed and dedicated in 2011. Read more at Kennedale 9-11 Memorial

There are several meet up sites for the ride with final destination Kennedale. In Fort Worth, the early meetup will be at Johnny O?s Ole House Tavern at 9905 Camp Bowie ? 10:00 am another is the Dallas Harley Davidson 1334 W Centerville Rd at 11:00 (some will depart the QT 4930 Little Road in Arlington at 8:30 am to ride to Garland). Another group will meet up at the QT at 1619 Hwy 34 S in Terrell at 9:30 to Garland. Riders will be escorted by the Tarrant and Dallas County Sheriff?s Departments.

All are invited, no matter if you ride a motorcycle or if you have a vehicle.
 
?It is all about Love, Respect and Honor. Lest we not forget and let these lives die in vain,” says Sue West, a founder of the event.
 
There are a number of groups involved including Friendship Riders, Allied Riders and Friendship Riders ?West and the City of Kennedale. In Sue’s on words,”15 years ago, the US was hit hard by a tragedy that no one would ever had dreams of happening. Terrorists hit on our land. 2,976 lives were lost.
 
Riders are asked bring a small to medium stuff animal to be donated to first responders to give to children in crisis.

This is a family friendly event. Vendors and food will also be there for all to purchase and enjoy. Those who are not part of the ride can also join the activities at TownCenter 9-11 Memorial Park in Kennedale located at 405 Municipal Drive.
 

Speakers at the short memorial service include Tarrant County Andy Nguyen along with State Representative Bill Zedler.
