The Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) has released its list of post-season softball honors and four Southwestern Assemblies
of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions have been selected. SAGU is located in Waxahachie, Texas.
Pitcher Ashley Abair (KHS ?11) was named as the 2015 Golden Glove for SAGU. She received the gold glove award for having the highest fielding percentage in the Sooner Athletic Conference. {{more}} This is only the second golden glove award that a SAGU player has received.
Utility player Brittany Johnson, infielder Kelsey Coburn and pitcher Hannah Lee have all been selected with second team honors.
Coburn led SAGU offensively, batting .379. Coburn had 44 hits and 18 rbi?s for the Lady Lions. Johnson was near perfect in the field, only committing one error on the season.
Abair is junior elementary education major and a 2011 graduate from Kennedale High School. She was a 4 year starter for the LadyKats. As a freshman at KHS she was voted the District 12-3A Pitcher of the Year as well as the team?s Co-Defensive MVP. She made the All-District teams all four years and won the 2011 LadyKat Heart Award.She originally signed with Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen in Borger, Texas before transferring to SAGU.
