Only 16 teams in the state in each division earn a trip to the UIL regionals. This weekend at four different sites around Texas, four teams at each site will face off in hopes of claiming a regional title and a trip to Austin.

Kennedale enters regional play as an unranked team. In this same foursome is #5 Abilene Wylie (28-5), #13 Shallowater (27-5) and unranked Stephenville (21-12). For its first game in the regional semifinals, the Lady Kats have drawn Shallowater.
The game will be played at 8:30 p.m. on Friday night in the late game of the double header. Abilene Wylie will face-off against a surging Stephenville team at 7 p.m. None of these teams are strangers to Lubbock. Abilene Wylie has bested Kennedale several times in Lubbock while Kennedale defeated Stephenville last year in the regionals to win a final four slot in Austin.
Kennedale will enter as an underdog but in this region, as the defending champions, Kennedale is still the one to watch.directions and brackets
